Wang Qi’s career as a full-time painter has been fruitful

Wang Qi returned to the Xuwen County Cultural Center as a librarian, and was soon elected as a member of the Xuwen County CPPCC. In fact, he became a full-time painter, which allowed him to devote himself wholeheartedly to his beloved art career. In order to create more masterpieces, no matter in spring, summer, autumn or winter, in severe cold or scorching heat, he insisted on working and studying until late at night almost every day. Sometimes when people were deeply quiet, he couldn't help but let out bursts of coughing, waking up his sleeping wife. He often got up to urge him to go to bed early, but he was concentrating on the creation of carving or painting, almost entering a state of selflessness, so he always ignored his wife's dissuasion, but said to her kindly : "You should rest first! I will go to bed later." He also told his wife: "Make sure to cover the child with a quilt." After that, he continued to work on his creation. Sometimes, when his wife sees him overworked, she feels very sad. She is afraid of hurting her body, so she often cooks him some rice porridge as a midnight snack. At this time, he always smiles humorously and says to his wife: "Thank you!"< /p>

His hard work pays off, and many of the works he carved out with his painstaking efforts are masterpieces. His print "Pineapple Fragrance in Southern Xinjiang" participated in the Guangdong, Sichuan and Shandong Printmaking Joint Exhibition and the 1980 Guangdong Provincial Workers' Amateur Art and Calligraphy Works Exhibition. In 1983, his oil painting "Red Rock" participated in the exhibition of art cadres' works in mass art museums at the provincial, municipal and county levels. His prints "Lobster Breeding" and "Line Rhythm" participated in the Guangdong Provincial Art Exhibition in October 1984. His woodcut "Morning" participated in the Provincial Amateur Art Exhibition in 1984 and so on. He has won many municipal and provincial printmaking awards.
