I became associated with calligraphy in the mid-1980s. At the beginning, he received the guidance of Li Dunfu, Wa Weng and other old masters, and later he received the teachings of Huang Dun, the master of Nanyi. Along the way for more than 20 years, I have enjoyed every bit of pain and joy in Linchi.
Xiaokai began to learn from Huang Daozhou, tracing back to Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, and later learned from Zhao Mengfu, Ni Zan and other schools. Cursive calligraphy started with Wang Duo of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and was deeply influenced by him, and can be traced back to Huang Tingjian, Zhang Xu, and Huaisu. The regular script and grass are still and moving. When it is moving, it is surging and surging, when it is passionate and selfless, I feel very happy; when it is still, it is like a virgin, and I abide by the laws and regulations, and I am also happy in it. Official script is immersed in Han Dynasty steles, with various styles. I especially like elegance, conciseness, and strict laws. I have learned a lot from it over time. Different calligraphy styles and calligraphers each have their own faces and temperaments. One flower and one world, one leaf and one Bodhi, what you get from it is not just writing and ink.
I am not good at talking and prefer to be alone. Holding an ancient post in my hand and wandering through it is enough. With this simple and rich love, no matter what happens in life, you can enjoy a life without fighting against the world. Watching with eyes and rubbing with hands, studying day and night, the pen and ink become more and more mature, and the mind gradually opens up. Every time I write, it is an improvement; every change brings me incomparable pleasure. This simple moment of spending time in a small space, while looking up and down, is the source of happiness for me. It makes ordinary life have boundless vision and meaning of running.
Wouldn’t it be nice to understand this and move on?
