What is Xiao Zhuan?

Xiao Zhuan is a simplified Chinese writing form from Da Zhuan, and it is also the product of large-scale standardization of Chinese characters by administrative means for the first time in China history. Xiao Zhuan was popular in China until the end of the Western Han Dynasty and was gradually replaced by official script. After Qin Shihuang destroyed the Six Kingdoms, he ordered Qin's "Xiao Zhuan" as the standard to unify the characters. With the development of China characters to the stage of Xiao Zhuan, they gradually began to take shape, and the pictographic meaning weakened, which made the characters more symbolic and reduced the confusion and difficulties in writing and reading.
