Self-study calligraphy has reached the bottleneck. How can we improve it?

After learning calligraphy to a certain degree and stage, as you said, about two years, I feel that I have not made much progress and I feel very confused, that is, I have reached the bottleneck period. In fact, most people who study calligraphy have encountered this problem.

Now, based on my personal experience in learning calligraphy, I would like to talk about some views:

1, to overcome confusion

After studying calligraphy for more than two years, I feel that my progress is not very fast. Seeing that other people's calligraphy is well written through various carriers, and thinking of practicing for nothing, I have no confidence to continue practicing and even want to give up. This idea is actually wrong. Learning calligraphy is a very lonely thing, and it needs perseverance and perseverance to achieve good results. Therefore, we must not give up easily at this time, we must overcome the psychological pressure of confusion and establish the spirit of nailing.

2. Overcome impatience.

Learning calligraphy should adhere to the principle of step by step. Don't think that after studying for more than two years, you will reach the crossroads of learning and not learning (bottleneck period), which will lead to impatience. At this time, you should calm down and sum up whether your study methods in the past two years are scientific, whether your posting is targeted, whether your time for practicing brushwork is guaranteed, and overcome your impatience to build a "Rome City" overnight.

3. Correct learning attitude.

As mentioned above, learning calligraphy is a gradual process. We must correct our learning attitude and overcome the mentality of "fishing for three days and drying the net for two days". Calligraphy should be practiced every day, every month and every year. Never practice a few times if you are happy today, and put it on hold if you are in a bad mood or have other things tomorrow. If so, it is impossible to succeed.

4. Master good learning methods.

It is very important to learn calligraphy learning methods. Mastering good learning methods can achieve twice the result with half the effort.

First of all, we must master copying and copying methods. Presence and copying are two important stages of calligraphy practice. Copy: Just put the copybook under the transparent post and practice according to the words on the post. Pro: It is to put the copybook beside you and draw a picture according to the calligraphy and painting on the copybook, which is also commonly known as "copying". Copy copy, step by step is the correct learning method.

Secondly, we should master the methods of reading and understanding posts. Reading posts is to carefully observe the posts you are practicing at present and master their brushwork, structure, layout characteristics, changes in lines, depth of pen and ink, and so on. Understanding the post is to realize the skills of using the pen in the model, master its structural adjustment, the weight of using the pen and the change of the turning point. Mastering these will be of great help to improve your calligraphy. Now I present my three recent works for the reference of book lovers. I hope that the masters will give me more advice, which is also a good learning opportunity for me.
