The Historical Prototype of Cao Danshu

The historical prototype of Cao Danshu is Cao Shi, the queen of the Northern Song Dynasty.

The popular TV series "Qingpingle" is set in the Northern Song Dynasty, which restores the complex and real Song Renzong between the turbulent political affairs and the unreasonable love between children. Cao Danshu, the heroine in the play, likes to ride and shoot in uniform and run wild outside. Dressed as a woman, she stood for Fan Zhongyan in front of Yingtianfu Academy. She dared to be "reckless", let her husband Li Zhi write a suicide note, and fled the Li family alone.

Her heart was in Renzong, and when she saw Zhao Zhen from a distance, she recited Qu Yuan's poem "Nine Songs". "I want to go east and follow my threshold." Later, as expected, she became the queen of Song Renzong, tried her best to adapt to Song Renzong with a generous attitude, and tried her best to handle the relationship with the concubines in the harem and live in peace.

Cao said:

Empress Cao is kind-hearted, thrifty and enterprising. Her grandfather Cao Bin was Cao Bin, the founding father of the Northern Song Dynasty. He galloped on the battlefield, fought in the south and fought in the north, and made great contributions to the Northern Song Dynasty, until the Tang Dynasty. Empress Cao inherited the fearless nature of her ancestors. Even as a queen, she was fearless in times of crisis. One night in August of the leap year of Song Dynasty, several guards in the palace launched a riot and went through the house to the emperor's palace.

Song Renzong got dressed and wanted to go out to see the situation, but Cao stopped him. At this critical juncture, Queen Cao calmed down. As ordered, she sent someone to inform Wang Shouzhong to come and escort, and at the same time called the eunuchs in the palace to guard the palace gate. She personally cut off a strand of hair of the eunuch who took part in the battle as proof for the future.
