"Those who are heinous, sit against the sky, kill people without blinking an eye, guard against rape and thieves, neglect the people, and bend the law by collecting money do not need this law."
Ten evils: ten major crimes stipulated in criminal law in feudal times. One is rebellion, the other is rebellion, the third is rebellion, the fourth is rebellion, the fifth is immorality, the sixth is disrespect, the seventh is unfilial, the eighth is discord, the ninth is injustice, and the tenth is civil strife.
Sitting against the Heaven: There are five streams besides the three streams stipulated in the Tang Law: servitude stream, sitting against the Heaven stream, children's cross stream, unfilial stream and forgiveness stream. The so-called counter-insurgency refers to the punishment of exile for some relatives of criminals who plot rebellion and treason. Exile: the punishment of transporting prisoners to remote places for hard labor in ancient times.

"Any official who should be discussed, invited or reduced to more than nine grades, whose grandparents, parents, wives and descendants of those whose official reserves have been reduced, will be redeemed if they commit the following crimes."
The law of the Tang Dynasty inherited the tradition that criminals with titles can be redeemed since the Han Dynasty, and stipulated that people with special status can atone for their sins: "Any official who should be discussed, invited or reduced by more than nine items can be redeemed if his official accumulation is reduced, and his grandparents, parents, wives and descendants commit the crime of vagrancy."
Discussion, invitation and agreement refer to the discussion chapter, invitation chapter and agreement chapter of Tang law respectively.
Discussion: "Eight Opinions" refers to the following eight kinds of people who commit crimes according to law, and the general judicial organs have no right to try them. They must appeal to the emperor for a ruling, and the emperor will reduce or exempt the punishment according to their status and specific conditions. These eight kinds of people are: discussing relatives, referring to the royal family and national interests; Talking about the past refers to the past of the emperor; On sages refers to people who are respected by feudal standards; Discussion ability means that a person has outstanding ruling ability; On merit refers to people who have made great contributions to feudal countries; On expensive, refers to the upper aristocratic bureaucrats; Diligence refers to people who work hard and make great contributions to the country; The guests discussed refer to the nobles of the previous dynasty and their descendants. A close relative is a wise man, and a diligent guest is a valuable work.
