Appreciation of Liu Yuxi's Four Poems

Appreciation of partridges singing in the trees reflected by rosy clouds;

"Chunjiang rises out of the levee, and the girls on the levee are even." The word "Ping" at the end of the first sentence is worthy of careful understanding, and it also contains rich images, which makes people think: the bright moon rises, the brilliance shines on the world, and the spring water on the riverbed overflows, which seems to blend with the sediment on the shore in the moonlight, making the levee look extraordinarily wide and flat. In such an environment, the characters appeared-"the women on the embankment walk together." Since we can walk hand in hand, we can see that the levee is really wide and flat. Traveling together on the levee and singing while walking is an uncontrollable expression of girls' feelings, and it also reflects the folk customs of Bayu and Guizhou.

"When you finish singing all the new words, you can't see them. Xia Hong sings against the tree." In order to attract boys to sing and dance together, the girls sang new words. What a happy season it is and what a touching night it is! It's just that this evening was a bit strange. There was no enthusiastic response and the other party didn't respond. The word "sing all the new words" is not "sing all", but "sing all", which seems to show the unbearable mood of girls when they stop singing. At the same time, the word "doing" also implies a time process. When singing new words, it is no longer the moonlight shining on the levee at night, but the morning scene of "rosy clouds reflecting the shadows of trees and partridges singing" Bright and dazzling rosy clouds and green trees will certainly arouse the girls' fright, and the sound of partridges will inevitably stimulate them. Partridges like to sing to each other. When all the new words were sung, it was quiet all around. Instead of them, there were partridges and chirps on the green trees. What do girls feel in their hearts?

Comments:

Liu Yuxi's love poems written in folk songs often contain a complex emotion of sadness, resentment, disappointment and expectation. In the poem, when the moon rises, the woman happily walks on the levee and sings, but she can't find her lover for just one night. After all, this disappointment is limited. Is the young man really cold? No one can understand it. Perhaps "Tao is heartless and affectionate", they are deliberately playing tricks on these affectionate girls. Although the partridge sound reflects the loneliness of a girl, and even seems a little ironic, it is not serious enough to cause the pain of female lovelorn.

The beginning and end of the poem are all landscapes, and the narrative is only two sentences in the middle. But it is almost incomprehensible if there are only "girls on the embankment" and "singing all the new words but not seeing them". With these two sentences, we can naturally imagine the activities of characters in a typical environment. And because the atmosphere and color of the two environments are different, it naturally implies the passage of time and the change of mood. Liu Yuxi's folk songs sometimes seem to be occupied by scenery, but in fact, pen and ink are still very economical, especially this poem ends with scenery. If you change it to a general narrative, it is difficult to express such rich and complicated content in any case.
