Inviting a Tour is Baudelaire's most famous poem, written in praise of his second lover, Mary Dubran. A Review of Two Worlds was first published in June 1855.
In Flowers of Evil, there are few passionate and lively poems like inviting you to swim, but it is not unique. The title of the first part of "Flowers of Evil" is "Melancholy and Ideal". As far as Baudelaire's poems are concerned, of course, there is more pain than pursuit and more melancholy than longing, because this is Baudelaire's real experience in real life.

It is said that Baudelaire wrote this poem because he was inspired by a Dutch landscape painting. In French literature, the Netherlands has always been regarded as a blessed land, where it is calm and mysterious. On April 25th, 1864, Baudelaire arrived in Brussels, Belgium. But Belgium left a bad impression on him. The poet was sad to go back to Paris, but he was short of money. Then he became ill, so Holland naturally stopped going.
The poem "Inviting a Tour" is full of the joy of life, and the most prominent feature in form is a strong sense of rhythm: two lines of five-syllable sentences, one line of seven-syllable sentences, and the last two lines of seven-syllable sentences, with the rhyme aabccb, form a paragraph. There are three paragraphs in the whole poem, and the last two lines of seven-tone sentences in each paragraph are exactly the same, which are overlapping sentences. The reduplication here describes the essence of ideal beauty, which is shared by women and nature, but it refers not only to appearance, but also to heart.
