Ancient Poetry and Translation

Wen Yan

Wei Yingwu

Where is the old garden? It's leisurely to think about it.

On the autumn night in Huainan, the geese came to Gaozhai.

Appreciation of Wenyan Wei Yingwu

In the fourth year of Tang Dezong Jianzhong (783), Wei Yingwu was appointed as the secretariat of Chuzhou by Shangshu Bibi Yuan Wailang. I left Beijing in the first summer and arrived in the autumn. This song "Wen Yan" was written shortly after he arrived in Chu.

it's a rainy night in autumn. The poet who sits alone in Gao Zhai listens to the incessant autumn rain outside in the dark night, and he feels the depth of the night, the cold of autumn and the emptiness of Gao Zhai more and more. Such a bleak and lonely environment will inevitably touch the thoughts of distant officials. Wei Yingwu lives in Chang 'an, which is more than 2, miles away from Chuzhou. Even if you climb the building during the day to lead the distance, you will feel blocked by Yunshan and return to the road. The night is dark, and I look around in a blur. Naturally, I don't know where it is. The distance of my hometown is in direct proportion to the long composition of homesickness, and this long night and continuous autumn rain make this homesickness endless and carefree. One or two sentences, the first sentence starts with a question, the second sentence with a sigh, and the implication contains infinite disappointment. The word "Fang" reveals that it is right to think, and it is arrogant for the third and fourth high schools.

Just when the feeling of homesickness was out of control, the poet sitting alone in Gao Zhai heard the cry of geese from far and near. On the lonely night of autumn rain, this voice is particularly sad, which makes the poets who stay awake all night because of homesickness think about it, and it is even more difficult to be pregnant. When the poem is written here, it comes to an abrupt end, and there is no word about the feelings caused by "Wen Yan", leaving it to the readers to recite and play. "After thinking, I said Wen Yan, and my feelings are deep. When you say it backwards, you can get close to it. " (Shen Deqian's "Gao Shi Bie Cai")

From the text alone, it seems that what is expressed in the poem is nothing more than the homesickness of a distant official. However, the bleak and mournful sentiment permeated in the whole poem and the autumn sound and autumn meaning permeated in the whole poem make readers vaguely feel that behind this "homesickness" and "Wen Yan", there is still a shadow of the times, which contains the poet's feelings about the times and society.

Shen Deqian said: "Five-character quatrains, the naturalness of right honesty, the sublimity of white, and the antiquity of Suzhou are merged into the chemical machine" (Shuo Shi Xi Yu). Gu Lian is indeed the style feature of Wei Yingwu's five-character quatrains. From this poem Wen Yan, we can see that he consciously used the sentence patterns, language and expression techniques of ancient poems to form a lofty and far-reaching artistic conception while maintaining the characteristics of the quatrains "meaning should be implicit and language should be inclusive". Between verses, avoid excessive jumps, and the language also strives to be simple and natural, avoiding carving and cutting. One or two sentences are also mixed with sentence syntax of scattered culture. This style is different from Bai Juyi's school's expression of daily life interest in simple language (such as Bai Juyi's a suggestion to my friend liu).

Chihe

Tang Baijuyi

There is no companion in front of the bamboo cage, and there are weathervanes in the flock of chickens.

if you bow your head, you will be afraid that the cinnabar will fall, and if you dry your wings, you will always doubt that the snow will disappear.

I feel that under the color of cormorants, I feel that parrots have a charming voice.

what's on your mind when the wind blows? Looking forward to Qingtian's cloud and water.

Appreciation

"There is no companion in front of the high bamboo cage, but there is a weathervane in the flock of chickens." This sentence is easily reminiscent of a word that stands out from the crowd. I can't find my bosom friend in front of the tall bamboo cage, and I also highlight my manners and integrity in the vulgar chickens.

"If you bow your head, you will be afraid that the cinnabar will fall, and if you dry your wings, you will always doubt that the snow will disappear." On the surface, this sentence means that the red-crowned crane is afraid to lower its head, and the symbol of nobility on its head, cinnabar, falls, and it is worried that the white coat color will become unsightly when drying its wings. In a sense, there should be another layer: bow your head, not only worrying that the symbol of nobility is no longer, but also because bow itself represents submission and humility, which is contrary to the image of loneliness; "Sun-drying wings often doubts that snow disappears", and the snow here not only refers to coat color, but also maintains a holy innocence. Thus, the image of a lofty and aloof red-crowned crane, but unwilling to compromise with the secular, stands out.

"I feel that under the color of cormorants, I hate the parrot's charming voice." Looking around in a blink of an eye, I feel that cormorants are dirty in color, and parrots who are superficial and good at parroting are too delicate. Both of them are not only poor in image and temperament, but also good at serving and pleasing their masters, and they have no freedom and opinions at all, let alone a pair of clanking pride.

"What do you think when the breeze blows, and you look at the blue sky and the water?". There is no bosom friend, no master's favor, just a long sigh in the cage and a melancholy look into the distance. The unreachable land of clouds and water is the paradise of dreams. What the red-crowned crane thinks is not only the precious freedom, but also the appreciation of his bosom friend and the anguish that his ideal and ambition can't be realized. However, he hopes to maintain his aloof character and extraordinary temperament and talent, and he will be able to soar in the clouds in the future.

this poem can also be said to be the author's expression of ambition by expressing things, and to contain people by things.

Welcome to Yan

Song Ge Tian Min

Spring is just around the corner, and March is the home of ordinary people.

in order to welcome the new year, don't put down the old curtain.

the wings are wet with light rain, and the muddy fragrance brings flowers.

the nest grows up and stays with you for years.

Appreciation

Swallows go from autumn to spring and nest under the eaves. People regard them as mascots. "Ordinary people's home" refers to Liu Yuxi's "Old Wang Xie Tang Qian Yan, flying into ordinary people's home." It is precisely because the swallows don't think they are poor and love the rich, and they are attached to the trend. The master also "does not leave behind the old curtains" and warmly welcomes the return of the swallows.

Swallows in ancient poems often symbolize a happy life. They fly together, and the swallows in this poem live happily under the eaves of their masters. The freedom of the swallow is the reflection of the poet's seclusion; The joy of swallows shows the joy of poets. Poetry vividly depicts the life habits of swallows and expresses the deep friendship between swallows and ordinary people.
