September 25th 194 1 five strong men of Langyashan, Yixian County, Hebei Province. In order to cover the transfer of the main force and the masses, Ma Baoyu, the monitor of the seventh company and the second platoon, Ge Zhenlin, the deputy monitor, and five brave men, Hu Delin, Hu Fucai and Song Xueyi, led thousands of puppet troops to the main peak of Langya Mountain on three cliffs.
They beat back the Japanese army five times, killing more than 50 enemies, and their uniforms were covered with blood. After running out of ammunition and food, they would rather die than surrender, smash their guns and jump off the cliff.

The "Five Heroes of Langyashan" were the five heroes of the Eighth Route Army who fought bravely against the Japanese army and the puppet Manchukuo army in the Battle of Langyashan in Yixian County, Baoding City, Hebei Province during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period. They are Ma Baoyu, Ge Zhenlin, Song Xueyi, Hu Delin and Hu Fucai. They wrote a magnificent poem with life and blood.
In the battle, they were fearless in the face of danger and stopped bravely. When the bullets ran out, they fought back with stones. Facing the approaching enemy, they would rather die than surrender, destroy their guns and jump off a cliff dozens of feet deep without hesitation.
Ma Baoyu, Hu Delin and Hu Fucai died heroically; Ge Zhenlin and Song Xueyi were caught by branches on the mountainside and survived. The feats of the five soldiers showed lofty patriotism, revolutionary heroism and unyielding national integrity, and were praised by the people as "the five strong men of Langya Mountain".
