Everyone thought that the second ancestor had already achieved enlightenment and became a Buddha, so why was he still beheaded? Isn’t it true that Buddhism is not effective? Before his execution, the second ancestor wrote the poem "Raising his head to face the sword is like cutting the spring breeze", which truly expresses the attitude and freedom of an achiever towards life and death. After beheading, white liquid spurted out instead of red blood. This proves to the world the incredible power of achievers. The eminent monk An Shigao came to China twice to repay human life, calmly and naturally. The high achievers Mu Jianlian, the Second Patriarch, and Anshi have proved with their own actions that although fixed karma cannot be reversed, they can treat the illusory life and death with a calm mind without fear of life and death. Through life and death, they can achieve eternal life. Through the stories of the three people, we can see that destiny is irreversible and terrible. No matter what level of cultivation you reach, he will still appear, just like a film that has been filmed. Whether you like it or not, he will still play it out. The plot of the story cannot be changed. There is a saying in the film industry that movies are a regretful art; then life can also be said to be a regretful life. The causes and conditions that have been created will inevitably form results under suitable conditions. It is impossible to change this kind of results from the state of mind. But you can change your understanding of the realm. Ordinary people don't know that they are acting. They put all their body and soul into it. In the drama of life, they love, hate, and seek life and death, and they can't extricate themselves. But achievers have clearly seen that life is like a dream, life is like an illusion, and life is like a play, so they are detached from things, have no worries, stay away from upside-down dreams, and regard life and death as nirvana. Therefore there is no fear, no fear. Therefore, the Eighth-level Bodhisattva enters the hells without any hindrance, and the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva saves suffering from suffering in the hell without any worries. The reason for this is to see through the illusion of the physical and mental world. In the illusionary state, the heart remains motionless and is not turned by the state. What is karma elimination? Everything we face, including body and mind, is an instant manifestation of karma, and we live in a world of karma. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva said: "Every thought in Jambudvipa is karma and sin." The so-called karma is the inertial flow of thoughts, which is constantly arising and passing away. We are eliminating karma all the time, and we are creating karma all the time. Because of this, life will continue to extend and reincarnation will continue. Only when we see through the true face of life and death, no longer choose between realms, face greed, anger, and ignorance without being moved, and with an immovable mind can calmly face all realms without making choices, will new karma stop being generated. At this time, you will realize Nirvana in life, and enter the lifeless Dharma Endurance after death. This is the moment of enlightenment. At this time, the real karma is fully emptied, and the karma is completely eliminated. This is the truth behind what the Fifth Patriarch said: "There is no emotion without seed, no sex nor life." Buddhas and Bodhisattvas cannot eliminate karma for others. Why? If you eat, you will be satisfied, and if you have bad karma, you will suffer. If Buddhas and Bodhisattvas could eliminate karma on behalf of individuals, there would be no such thing as upside-down sentient beings in this world. With the great kindness and compassion of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, all karma and obstacles will be eliminated for all sentient beings. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas can only teach sentient beings how not to create new karma, how to calmly face karma, and how to eliminate it. Rather than taking over everything, everything is done by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Buddha cannot become a Buddha on behalf of sentient beings. Living beings can only develop their original wisdom under the guidance of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Under the guidance of wisdom, they can clear away the defilements in their own minds, that is, eliminate karma, and then achieve the same tranquility as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In the end, the mind and body are the same as those of Buddha and Bodhisattvas, freed from life and death and achieving ultimate freedom.
