Ambition in Xinqing
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
The wilderness in Xinqing is vast and untainted as far as the eye can see.
Guomen faces the ferry, and the village trees connect to the mouth of the stream.
Beyond the white water fields, behind the green peaks coming out of the mountains.
There is no idle person in the farming month, and the whole family is busy in the south.
The scenery described in the poem includes:
Open fields, quiet villages, clear streams, and towering mountains.
The static verse is: "Guomen is near the ferry, and the village trees are connected to the mouth of the stream. Beyond the clear water and bright fields, green peaks emerge from the mountains."
The dynamic verse is: "The moon is silent Idle people spend their time in the south."
Translation
It is clear after the rain. Looking across the fields, the field of vision is wide and empty. There is not a trace of fog or dust as far as the eye can see.
The gatehouse of the outer city is close to the ferry dock, and the green trees beside the village are connected to the mouth of the stream.
The water flowing outside the field ridge sparkled in the sun, and green peaks suddenly appeared behind the ridge.
During the busy farming season, there are no leisurely people. The whole family of farmers is busy working in the fields.
