In 2002, Shazhou, Shuangzha Sub-district Office and Jiang Xinzhou Town in Yuhuatai District were placed under the jurisdiction of jianye district; Jianye district Chaotian Palace and Zhimaying Sub-district Office are under the jurisdiction of baixia district; Jianye district Hanzhongmen Street and its part extending westward to the north of the Yangtze River are under the jurisdiction of Jiangdong Sub-district Office in Gulou District. Hanzhongmen Street in Gulou District and its west extension to the south of the Yangtze River are under the jurisdiction of jianye district Xinglong Sub-district Office. Jiang Xinzhou Town was abolished and Jiang Xinzhou Sub-district Office was established (formally established in 2003).
By the end of 2009, jianye district had seven streets under its jurisdiction: Nanhu Street, Binhu Street, Xinglong Street, Nanyuan Street, Shuangzha Street, Shazhou Street and Jiang Xinzhou Street, and the district government was located in Shazhou Street (No.269, Jiangdong Middle Road, Nanjing).
