Dreaming within a dream, seeing the outside of the body

The origin of the poem "Like a monk with hair, like a common man without dust, dreaming within a dream, seeing the outside of the body"

The 26-year-old Song Dynasty Jinshi Huang Tingjian was a scholar in Wuhu. One day while taking a nap, I dreamed that I came to a village and saw an old woman setting up an incense table at the door. On the table was a bowl of celery noodles, which was very fragrant. The old woman was calling someone's name. Huang Tingjian walked over, ate the bowl of noodles, and then returned to the Yamen. After waking up from a nap, my dream was clear and the smell of celery was still in my mouth. The next day I took a nap and the dream reappeared. Huang Tingjian felt strange, so he walked out of the Yamen, followed the directions in the dream scene, and went to a house where he met the old woman. The old woman told Huang Tingjian the legendary story of using celery noodles to feed her daughter who had been dead for 26 years (her daughter was a Buddhist disciple who never married, liked to read, and ate long fasts). Huang Tingjian asked the old woman about the anniversary of her daughter's death, but it was the same birthday as his own. At this time, Huang Tingjian felt even more strange. Her daughter had been dead for 26 years, and the time of death was the same as her own. The anniversary of her daughter's death was the same as his own birthday. Could it be that I, Huang Tingjian, was the reincarnation of this old woman's daughter? So Huang Tingjian went to the old woman's daughter's bedroom, opened her daughter's bookcase, and found many manuscripts. Huang Tingjian read them carefully and found out that all the articles he wrote for each test paper were here and they were word for word. At this time, Huang Tingjian fully understood that this old woman was his mother in his previous life. So Huang Tingjian knelt on the ground and called her mother, and took the old woman back to the Yamen to support her. This is a later story. Huang Tingjian built "Dicui Pavilion" in the back garden, and wrote a poem engraved on the stone tablet: "Like a monk with hair, like a worldly person, dreaming in a dream, realizing the outer body." Proving the story of Huang Tingjian's reincarnation, Real and true. (Excerpt from Zhong Shipan's article "It's Too Late to Read the Book in This Life", this article is included in the book "Jade Calendar")

Dream within a dream, see the outside of the body.

When a person is sleeping, sometimes the soul will leave the body and go to other places to play, and his dream will also participate in the playing process. Later, her soul will come back, and she will feel awake in the dream, but in fact she has not yet He woke up, still sleeping and dreaming, but his soul came back. Finally, when he really woke up, he realized that he had had a dream within a dream. Of course I hope you don’t believe in the existence of a soul. This is not true. It is made up by human beings themselves. ah? It turned out to be a comment from the teacher. This is very simple. It means that this classmate never does what he should do.
