Is Pangu, the great god who created the world, the dog ancestor Panhu?

At the beginning, the heaven and the earth were as chaotic as a chicken egg, and Pangu was born in it. Pangu grew up in this "egg" for eighteen thousand years and then created the world. The legend about Pangu can be found in the "Sanwu Liji" of the Three Kingdoms period, and was later cited in "Taiping Yulan" and others.

"Panhu" comes from the legend of the Miao people. There is a story about "Panhu" in "The Book of the Later Han Dynasty*Nanman Biography". There is Pangu Tomb in Laibin, Guangxi, and Pangu Temple in Guilin. Some scholars believe that the pronunciation of "古" and "皠" are the same according to the southern dialect. "Pangu" is the pronunciation of "Panhu", which is actually a person. Pangu and Panhu were both epoch-making figures. After Pangu died, his head turned into the four mountains, his eyes turned into the sun and moon, the fat on his body turned into rivers and seas, and his hair turned into vegetation. According to Pangu's tears, his tears are like rivers, his breath is like wind, his voice is like thunder, and the flash of his pupils is like lightning. When Pangu is happy, it is a sunny day, when Pangu is angry, it is a cloudy day.

In the legends of Wu and Chu, the Pangu family is the beginning of yin and yang, just like Fuxi and Nuwa in other legends. They lived and multiplied, gave birth to the various tribes of the Southern Barbarians, and were regarded as Ancestors, so there are many Pangu tombs, Pangu temples, etc. in the south. Panhu is considered to be the ancestor of the Dog Rong, also known as the Dog Ancestor Panhu. It is said to be the dog of Emperor Ku Gaoxin. Some people say that it was a foreign object in the ear of an old woman in the palace, which later turned into a dog. When the king of Fang was in trouble, it was this dog that put down the rebellion. So the emperor made him the Marquis of Guilin or the Marquis of Kuaiji, and married his daughter to him. The Panhu dog carried the emperor's daughter to the stone chamber in Nanshan to become husband and wife. Since marrying Panhu, the emperor's daughter has also pulled up her hair, put on coarse clothes, and started to open up mountains and forests with her husband. The sons and daughters of Panhu and his wife became Changsha Man, Wuling Man and so on. Some say that Panhu and his wife gave birth to three boys and six girls, while others say that they gave birth to six boys and six girls.

Liu Xifan, a scholar of the Republic of China, believed that Pangu was worshiped by the Yi people and was called "Pan King". The Yi people believe that King Pan is in charge of a person's life and death, the length of his life, and whether he is poor or wealthy. There is a song "The Song of the Dog King" sung by She people: When King Gao Xin first came to court, he went out to play and look at the fields; the queen had an earache for three years, and the doctor found a three-inch gold worm. The doctor found out that the gold bug was three inches long, so he put it on a gold plate and raised it. At three o'clock in the day, it grew bigger and turned into a dragon and a dog two feet long. The dog turned into a dragon and was two feet long, with all the five-color spots in rows. If the five-color spots grew well, the emperor ordered it to be called a golden dragon. The prince of Sui Fan is a philistine, and he wants to marry the emperor's daughter; the girl in the third palace wants to change her body inside the golden bell.

The golden bell went inside to transform, and it was determined that it would turn into a human being on the seventh day; on the sixth day, the queen came to see it, but it turned out that it had not yet turned into a human being. The head is a dragon and the body is a human, and he loves to marry the emperor's daughter; the emperor's decree is hard to change, and he is the founder of Lan Lei Pan's ancestors. The third biological son is very upright, and went to the emperor's palace to ask for his surname; the eldest son Panzhang's surname was Pan, and the second Lanzhuang's surname was Lan; the third son was one year old, and he went to the emperor's palace to ask for his life; Lei Gongyun's head sounded well, and the paper When I came to the notes, my surname was Lei. When he first went to court in Guangdong, he had three biological sons in the same palace. He recruited a soldier to be his wife, and his son-in-law's name was Zhong. Panhu is a person with the head of a dog and the descendants of Panhu have the following surnames: Pan, Lan, Lei and Zhong. Pan, Lan and Lei are the descendants of Panhu's three sons; Zhong is the descendant of Panhu's daughter.
