Acorus calamus

This sentence comes from Wang's "Qunfangpu" in the Ming Dynasty.

Acorus gramineus is a perennial evergreen herb of Araceae. Originated in the south of the Yangtze River valley in China, it is especially suitable for growing on shallow rocks in mountain streams and crevices beside streams, showing its tenacious vitality and strong adaptability. Of course, this is also related to its special plant morphology. The rhizome of Acorus gramineus is creeping on the ground, slender and curved, with branches and dense links, and the fibrous roots (called tiger whiskers) are also born on it. Its leaves come out from the base, like swords, thin strips, evergreen and shiny.

Bright. The meat spike is cylindrical, with small flowers, and the flowers in April and May are yellow-green. Regarding these characteristics, Wang's "Qunfangpu" in the Ming Dynasty recorded: "But Acorus gramineus is not expensive unless it is seasonal, regardless of spring and autumn, the longer it is, the denser it is, the more barren it is, and it can be cultivated. As long as there is such a gentleman around the study, it will be fun and chic. " Not only wrote the characteristics of the tenacious vitality of Acorus gramineus, but also told the story that Acorus gramineus has been loved by people since ancient times and is often played and decorated by people.

Acorus gramineus has indeed been loved by people since ancient times, and its cultivation history is very long. Before the 6th century BC, there was a record in the Book of Songs that "the slope of the vicious river was full of rivers", and there was also a record in the Book of Rites and the Moon Order that "after winter, prosperity began to live". Mr. Chang's record is good, so he began to plow. Scholars in past dynasties also have many poems praising Acorus gramineus. For example, the poet Du Fu's poems such as "the wind breaks the green knot, and the green knot spits out the cold knot", Yao Siyan's poems such as "the thin leaves grow long" and Lu You's poems such as "the luxuriant leaves are better" all describe the intertwined, slender, knotty, green and lovely state of Acorus gramineus, which is of course unique and interesting. In addition, a poet, Qi Longyuan, wrote a poem saying: "A single blow with one stone can make you feel lonely with fairy furniture, and you hate that you were born without an inch of land, and dripping water is hard to disappear. "It also says that the packaging nodules of Acorus gramineus stand in the cracks between rocks.

Lu You wrote another poem: "Xi Gu sits on a calamus with fine roots;" The fairy taught me to take clothes, and the knife can cure all diseases. Yang crazy Huayin city, Yan Zhu hair like paint; Long-term service, long life. "It is said that the rhizome of Acorus gramineus can make you beautiful and black, and prolong your life. As for "immortals teach clothes", there is another legend.

There is a record in the ancient book Legend of Immortals: Once Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (Liu Che) climbed Songshan Mountain to the top of the mountain, and suddenly he saw a man in front of him, two feet tall, with long ears and drooping shoulders, and a beard with fairy wind. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty quickly bowed to ten thousand drivers and asked, "Who is the immortal and how did he come here?"

I heard the old man answer, "I'm from Jiuyi Mountain. It is said that there is a kind of grass called Acorus gramineus growing on the rocks at the top of Zhongyue Mountain (among the five mountains, Songshan Mountain is Zhongyue Mountain). This grass is one inch and nine knots. Eat it and you will live forever. So I'm here to collect it. " Say that finish, suddenly disappeared.

Just after listening to the old man's words, Emperor Wu suddenly disappeared and suddenly realized. He said to the left and right courtiers, "The old man didn't want to eat calamus himself, so he came to tell me."

Although this record in "The Legend of the Immortal" is purely legendary, taking Acorus gramineus can really improve your hearing, broaden your mind, eliminate dampness and detoxify.

"Materia Medica" records: "Acorus gramineus has a good knot of nine inches." Wang Jingmei, a poet in the Song Dynasty, said: "Acorus calamus is a treasure with nine knots, tiger beard is beautiful, and Jiangxi species is expensive." The formula of raising Acorus calamus recorded in Qunfangpu is: spring comes out late, summer does not hesitate, autumn water is deep, and winter is hidden. There is another cloud: "adding water does not change water: adding water makes it moist and changing water hurts its vitality." Seeing the sky and not seeing the sun: seeing the rain and dew and seeing the sun is afraid of yellow. Appropriate cutting should not be divided: frequency cutting is short and thin, and frequency division is thick and thin. Soaking roots without soaking leaves: soaking roots breeds and soaking leaves fester. " It is about cultivation, but it also talks about the unique personality of Acorus gramineus and its relationship with health care.
