Lin married Liang Sicheng under the arrangement of his family, and they also loved each other after marriage. Lin He went to America to study architecture. After reading, they chose to return to China to contribute to the country and were hired by the Department of Architecture of Northeastern University, which opened a new chapter in their architectural career.
They know that for architecture, practice makes true knowledge. Lin and Liang Sicheng, a woman, and a group of colleagues from China Architectural Society conducted a field survey, focusing on the ancient buildings in China. When Lin couldn't go on a field trip with her husband because she was pregnant, she chose another way to participate in and support her husband's career-writing architectural papers or works.
They are both excellent poets and excellent architects. Together, they wrote "Miscellany of Suburban Apartment Buildings". It is Lin's best help to her husband and her outstanding contribution as an architectural scholar to euphemistically describe boring ancient buildings with beautiful writing and creative words, which makes scientific reports as readable as prose. In the same year, Lin's On Several Features of China Architecture was published.
The publication of Architectural History of China has a great influence in China. It ended the short board that there was no history of China architecture written by China people, and also corrected the prejudice of westerners on the architectural art of China. Lin thought that her husband should have this honor, so he didn't sign the book.
