Chang 'e [Tang] Li Shangyin
The shadow of mica screen candle is deep, the long river is gradually falling and the stars are sinking.
Chang 'e, I must regret eating the elixir, and now I am alone, in the blue sky, singing every night.

The candle shadow on the mica screen is dim, the milky way is fading, and the morning star is disappearing.
Chang 'e should regret stealing the elixir of life, and now she is lonely every night.
Appreciation of Chang 'e;
This poem sings the lonely scene of Chang 'e in the middle of the moon and expresses the poet's self-injury mood. The first two sentences describe the empty and cold atmosphere of indoor and outdoor environment respectively, and show the hero's homesickness. The last two sentences are the feelings of the protagonist after painful memories, expressing a sense of loneliness. The whole poem is sentimental, rich in meaning, fantastic and touching.

Because of the description and rendering of the first two sentences, the word "should" seems natural and reasonable. Therefore, the last two sentences are not so much affectionate and considerate to Chang 'e's situation and mood as the lonely monologue of the protagonist.
