A poem to Fan Ye

Fold flowers and send them to the people of Longtou.
If you have nothing in the south of the Yangtze River, just give me a spring branch.
Translation
When he met the post envoy going north, he went to pick plum blossoms and asked him to bring them to his friends in Longshan. There is no better gift to send to Jiangnan, so let me send you a plum blossom to announce the spring.

This poem was written by Lu Kai when he led his troops to conquer Meiling in the south. He climbed up to Meiling Mountain in the midst of the army, and the plum blossoms were in full bloom. He immediately stood among the plum blossoms, looked back to the north, and thought of his friend Fan Ye from Longtou. He happened to meet the messenger who was going north, and the plum blossoms appeared. I wrote a poem as a gift to a friend, so I wrote this poem.
The first two sentences describe that the poet and his friends are thousands of miles away, and it is difficult to get together, so they can only communicate with each other by messenger. The word "meeting" in "meeting the post envoy" means that he met the post envoy unexpectedly, and he was reminded of his friend by the post envoy, so he sent plum greetings to him, which reflected his deep concern for his friend and made the whole poem full of the interest of nature.
