Membo Wu Dong Wan Li Ship Poems

Quatrain

Du Fu

"Two orioles sing green willows, and egrets cover the sky."

My window framed the snow-covered western hills. My door often says "goodbye" to ships sailing eastward.

Interpretation of poetry

1. Pairs of orioles are singing on the new green willow branches, and a row of egrets are flying freely in the blue sky. Looking from the window, the snow scene of the Western Hills seems to be a picture embedded in it. Ships from Soochow are moored outside the door, sailing in Wan Li.

2. Two Huang Peng sang on the green willow branches, and a white honeymoon flew high in the blue sky. Outside the window, facing the eternal snow in Minshan, a Wan Li ship from Jiangsu is moored outside.
