Begonia is a famous flower. Wen Zhiming touched its appearance with his exquisite brushwork of "halal ancient light", compared with others, appraised its trend, and vividly portrayed the beautiful image of Haitang.
"Purple is soft and different, and light makeup is faint." The first part gives a static description of the shapes and colors of Begonia pendula, traces its life experience of other species from the elegant state of "purple with soft strips", and deduces the aesthetic evaluation of "charm" from the elegant color of "light makeup and light glare". Wen Zhiming's description of flowers is close to the true colors of flowers, and he is almost "silent". "Flower Mirror" says: "Begonia has drooping silk, which is not different. The cover is a cherry tree, so the pedicel is as slender as a cherry. " Wen Zhiming's so-called "purple ribbon" actually refers to the long purple pedicel of the weeping begonia, which coincides with Mei Yao Chen's poem "How long is the purple wax pedicel". And "light makeup and faint" really means that the color of the vertical petal is light red, often semi-double.
Begonia pendulous branches, graceful posture, and its flowers are also drooping in full bloom. The couplets in Wen Zhiming's poems are a moving picture of the flowers of Parthenocissus tricolor blooming in the wind. Wen Zhiming also imagined its motivation of "opening up" as "being able to avoid the sun skillfully". In order to protect themselves and avoid the direct sunlight, blooming flowers can't bow their heads deftly, like shyness, bitterness and charm. However, I can't help but feel lighter and more beautiful, which is a far-reaching inheritance of "light makeup and light smile" and a recent inheritance of "being able to avoid the sun and create the world", further revealing the exquisite beauty of Haitang, just like holding a heart disease and being as beautiful as a fairy.
The first half of this seven-rhythm poem focuses on the shape, color and modality of begonia, while the second half turns to comparison and appreciation. The "drunken spring makeup, thin waist and snow dance" written by the neck couplet is another two famous begonia products. First, the brightly colored red Xifu Begonia is just in line with the proportion of "drunken spring"; First, in Bai Haitang, the pedicels are very short, and the flowers stick to the branches, which just fits the metaphor of "thin waist and snow". However, the poet believes that if compared with the charm, begonia should naturally rank before Chengdu, including Xifu and Tiegeng. Chengdu begonia, with a long-standing reputation and beauty in the world, was once praised by Lu You as "the flower of Sichuan place names, which is good in ancient and modern times and can overwhelm thousands of forests in one breath." Wen Zhiming compared Begonia with Xifu Begonia and Tiegeng Begonia, and concluded with the evaluation of "If you have a high attitude, you should be in front of all products in Chengdu", which shows the admiration and beauty of Begonia. Static observation, dynamic description, cross-reference and homeopathic comments are the main lines of the whole poem, which shows Wen Zhiming's originality.
