This poem was said by Emperor Qianlong (Hongli). The original poem is:
At the foot of Huajia Mountain, in Huagang, there are flowers with fish bodies and fish sucking flowers.
The most important thing is that the spring light brings out the beauty of the West, and the bottom is that the autumn water brings out the beauty of the South China.
In the thirty-eighth year of Kangxi's reign, Xuanye visited the West Lake and wrote a book about watching fish in Huagang. He carved a stone tablet and built it beside the fish pond. Later, when Qianlong went to the south of the Yangtze River to visit the West Lake, another poem was inscribed on the shadow of the stele. The stele is divided into two sides, Yangwen and Yinwen. They were inscribed by the two emperors Kangxi and Qianlong respectively. This is the only one in the history of the forest of stele in my country. Qianlong's poems include: "Huajiashan flows to Huagang, with fish bodies and fish sucking flowers."
The stone tablet for viewing fish in Huagang was inscribed by Emperor Qianlong when he went to the south of the Yangtze River. The word "fish" in it is written in traditional Chinese with four dots, which represents fire. Qianlong changed it to three dots, which represents water, implying the life of the people. The weather is favorable and the country is stable and peaceful. There is also a theory that the four characters "Viewing Fish in Huagang" were written by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Kangxi believed in Buddhism throughout his life and was known as "Buddha" and "good man". His grandson Qianlong also advocated "the virtue of a good life". However, in Chinese characters, three points represent water and four points represent fire. The four dots at the bottom of the traditional Chinese character "鱼" are originally the character for fire. Fish are born when they encounter water and will die when they encounter fire. The emperor couldn't bear to see the fish die, so he changed the four points at the bottom of the word "fish" in the inscription into three points, intending to let the fish live happily in the water forever, to show the emperor's great kindness and the blessing of all things. This also left an interesting allusion to future generations.
