Cut and straighten the 5.9-kilometer-long river from Huang Wei bend to Xiushankou in the upstream, and the width of the river bottom is 35-55 meters. After the Wayang River project was partially destroyed by water, it was still beneficial to flood control in the downstream polder area, but it was not conducive to drought prevention in the upstream. The upstream slope of yellow mud is steep and flows through the loess area, resulting in serious soil erosion. It flows into Chaohu Lake via Zhao He, and flows into Xihe River, Fenghuang Neck and splendid Luohe River in Wuwei to the Yangtze River in the southeast. It is the main waterway connecting rivers and lakes in the southern waters of Lujiang River.
In the old days, due to sediment deposition, the channel of Huangpi Lake was seriously silted up.
