Mingjun, as a special term for the evaluation of emperors, comes from "Zuo Zhuan, the Second Year of Chenggong": "When a doctor is in charge of government, he still uses the crowd to defeat him. How about the Mingjun who makes good use of the crowd?" ?, here is the meaning of wise monarch. King Luo Bin, one of the four heroes of the early Tang Dynasty, wrote a poem in "Su Wen City Watching the Military Camp": "We should avenge the humiliation of this man, and take this to repay the Mingjun." ?. This expresses this meaning. ?
The Ming Dynasty was a historical dynasty that began in 1368 AD and ended in 1644 AD. It was a feudal dynasty established by the Han people in Chinese history. In the early days, the capital was in Nanjing, but it was moved to Nanjing during the reign of Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty. Starting from the founding emperor Zhu Yuanzhang to the end of the country's subjugated king Zhu Youjian, there were sixteen emperors in succession, and they experienced 276 years of historical ups and downs.
The Red Turban Uprising broke out at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, and Zhu Yuanzhang joined Guo Zixing's team. After arduous fighting, he gradually emerged among the peasants and was proclaimed King of Wu in 1364. In early 1368, he proclaimed himself emperor, built Yingtianfu (Nanjing), and named his country Daming. This is what we call the Ming Dynasty. In 1421, Zhu Yuanzhang's fourth son and the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di, moved the capital to Shuntian Prefecture.
The early Ming Dynasty experienced the Hongwu rule of Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang, the Yongle rule of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di, the Renxuan rule of Ming Renzong Zhu Gaochi and Ming Xuanzong Zhu Zhanji and his son, and the country was strong. In the middle period, the country's power turned from prosperity to decline after the Tumubao Revolution in Zhu Qizhen, the Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty. Later, it began to recover after the Hongzhi Zhongxing of the Xiaozong of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Youtang, and the Wanli Zhongxing of the Ming Shenzong, Zhu Yijun.
After the Ming Dynasty entered the late period, due to political corruption, eunuch dictatorship, Donglin party strife and natural disasters, the national power declined and the people were in dire straits. Finally, peasant uprisings broke out everywhere. In 1644, Li Zicheng invaded, Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself, and the Ming Dynasty was destroyed.
During the Ming Dynasty, the autocratic monarchy was strengthened and the multi-ethnic country was further unified and consolidated.
As we all know, the Qing Dynasty was established after overthrowing the Ming Dynasty. The ruling class of the Qing Dynasty definitely did not have much favorable impression of the Ming Dynasty, and at least they would not take the initiative to praise it. For the sixteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty, the Qing Dynasty did their best to obscure their historical achievements and even maliciously tampered with their political actions.
However, Zhu Youtang, the ninth emperor of the Ming Dynasty and the third son of Ming Xianzong Zhu Jianshen, was not belittled too much. This was mainly because Zhu Youtang had political achievements and a good reputation. The Qing Dynasty was unwilling to discredit and tarnish his reputation. This is evident.
