Why do Buddhist monks settle in summer?

Summer settlement has three meanings: 1. In summer, when the temperature is high, people are easy to go out, and there is nothing to parade, which hinders monasticism. 2. There are many bugs in summer, so going out is easy to damage life, which violates the principle of compassion. 3. prevent the world from sneering and slandering. The first two are not done correctly, which is easy to attract ridicule. Wearing thin clothes in summer, going out to contact men and women in the world, causing trouble, is easy to be laughed at and vilified.
