Two quatrains
[Tang] Du Fu
It's beautiful when the sun is late, and flowers and plants are fragrant in the spring breeze.
the mud melts the swallows, while the sand warms the mandarin ducks.
the birds in the river are over white, and the blue flowers in the mountains are burning.
spring has passed again, and when will it be the year of return?
translation: Jiangshan is bathed in spring, so beautiful, and the spring breeze brings the fragrance of flowers and plants.
Swallows are busy building their nests with wet mud in their mouths, and couples of mandarin ducks fall asleep in the warm sand.
The blue waters of the river set off the snow-white feathers of waterfowl, the mountains were gloomy and the red flowers set each other off, and they were about to burn.
This spring is almost over. When and when is the date for my return home?
Appreciation of the poem: It is because "it is late for the sun" that the sand is warm, and the sand is warm, which attracts pairs of mandarin ducks to come out of the water and bathe in the bright sunshine. It is so leisurely and comfortable. Judging from the description of the scenery, it contrasts with the dynamic flying swallow in the third sentence, which is dynamic and static, and makes each other interesting. These two sentences use meticulous brushwork to describe the flying swallow with mud and the sleeping mandarin duck, and cooperate with one or two sentences to sketch the broad and bright scenery, so that the whole picture is harmonious and unified, forming a picture of early spring scenery with bright colors, flourishing business and aesthetic feeling. As far as the thoughts and feelings contained in the poem are concerned, it reflects the poet's comfortable mood of temporarily settling in the thatched cottage after "one-year-old four-line service" and "three-year hunger and barren hills", and also shows the poet's joyful feelings about the vitality and prosperity of nature in the early spring.
