The poem's first couplet "Five guests in Shujun, one year in Zizhou" means that the poet lived in Chengdu for five years, one of which was spent in Zizhou (Santai, Sichuan). How to turn traffic jam into a trip to Xiaoxiang means: at present, there are war horses everywhere, and the traffic in Guanshan is blocked. Why should I visit Xiaoxiang?
This is to express an ulterior secret in a questioning tone, not only to himself, but also to all relatives and friends who care about him. The implication is that I know that the situation is so chaotic now that I shouldn't travel far, so I came out of my heart to ask questions, and I felt helpless and angry.
