Primary school, Tengwang Pavilion in the evening

Tengwang Pavilion, one of the three famous buildings in Jiangnan, is the only existing royal building in the south. Located on the east bank of the Ganjiang River along Yanjiang Road in the northwest of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, it was built in the fourth year of Yonghui in the Tang Dynasty. It was named after Li Yuanying, the younger brother of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. The autumn water and the sky have the same color forever" and will be famous for generations to come. Founded in the fourth year of Yonghui in the Tang Dynasty, it is known as the "Three Famous Towers in Jiangnan" together with the Yellow Crane Tower in Wuhan, Hubei and the Yueyang Tower in Hunan. In history, Tengwang Pavilion has been rebuilt 29 times, destroyed and rebuilt many times.

Tengwang Pavilion is the first of the three famous towers in the south of the Yangtze River in China. Together with the Yellow Crane Tower and the Yueyang Tower, it is also known as the "three famous towers in the south of the Yangtze River". It was built in the fourth year of Yonghui in the Tang Dynasty (AD 653) for the son of Li Yuan, the emperor of the Tang Dynasty. It was founded by Li Yuanying when he was the governor of Hongzhou.

When I was very young, my father told me the story of Wang Bo writing "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng". Wang Bo's peerless talent and the beautiful words and sentences of "Preface to Prince Teng's Pavilion" left an indelible impression on my young heart. A "Preface to Tengwang Pavilion" made Tengwang Pavilion a generation of famous towers in Jiangnan. It, together with Yellow Crane Tower and Yueyang Tower, is known as the three famous towers in Jiangnan, and ranks first among the three towers. In the preface, the famous line "The setting clouds and the lonely owl fly together, the autumn water and the long sky are the same color" have been chanted through the ages and have become a favorite line known to women and children. It is a pity that Tengwang Pavilion was destroyed by war in modern times, which added a bit of mystery to my regret. I heard that Nanchang City rebuilt Tengwang Pavilion a few years ago, which increased my desire to visit Tengwang Pavilion in person. But despite admiring the name for many years, it just didn't happen, leaving only this little bit of deep regret in my heart.

I came to Nanchang by chance this summer, and my long-cherished wish to visit Tengwang Pavilion, which had been dormant in my heart for many years, suddenly came to my mind.

The newly built Tengwang Pavilion is 57.7 meters high, with three lights and seven darks. The painted eaves on the pavilion reproduce the scene of that time when "the water is exhausted, the cold pond is clear, the smoke condenses, and the mountains are purple at dusk". There are three large characters "Tengwang Pavilion" hanging high on the pavilion. It is said that the plaque was written by Su Dongpo. The four wild cursive characters in the plaque "Magnificent and Unique" under the eaves of the first floor were written by Huai Su, the "Cao Sage" of the Tang Dynasty. It is difficult to identify without the introduction of the guide. Climbing up the steps and hanging on both sides of the main entrance are the couplets written by Chairman Mao himself: "The falling clouds and solitary swans fly together, the autumn water and the long sky are one color". The writing is like flowing clouds and flowing water, and the handwriting is like a dancing phoenix and a flying dragon.

Tengwang Pavilion has been built and destroyed many times in history. From the early Tang Dynasty to the present, it has been rebuilt twenty-eight times. This time, the site was chosen just over a hundred meters away from the old site of Tang Pavilion. It is adjacent to the river for bathing. The glow reproduces the scenery of Wang Bo's time of "the sky and the water are the same color as the clouds and the ducks flying together".

Stepping into the hall, there is a relief screen wall carved from a single piece of white marble on the front, which describes a legend written by Wang Bo. It is said that Wang Bo committed a capital crime and was fortunately pardoned and released, so he went to Hainan to visit his father. When we arrived at Madang (today's Pengze County), we encountered obstacles, so we had to get off the boat and wander around. When we met an old man, we asked him, "Is this Wang Bo?" Wang Bo hurriedly greeted him and said, "Bo has never known you. How can you know Bo?" The old man smiled and said: Tomorrow, Governor Yan will host a banquet at Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang. With your talent, you will surely have masterpieces that will be handed down from generation to generation. Why not get on the boat quickly and attend the meeting. Wang Bo said: This place is more than 700 miles away from Nanchang County. How can we get there overnight? The old man said: Just move forward, I will help you with the night wind. Wang Bo boarded the boat and arrived in Nanchang overnight.

It turned out that Jiangxi Governor Yan Boyu had a son-in-law named Wu Zizhang. Governor Yan wanted to show off Wu's talents in front of everyone and planned a banquet for guests. Before the banquet, he ordered Wu Zizhang to present a preface and prepare it. The stone masonry was carved on the spot. Wu had prepared an article early, polished and revised it several times, and memorized it by heart, only to present it "on the spot" after drinking for thirty years. In order not to show off, Governor Yan pretended to give way to the celebrities attending the meeting one by one. When it was given to Wang Bo, Wang Bo did not refuse, he accepted the order happily, brushed the paper, grinded it, and wrote the pen. Governor Yan walked away in anger. Wang Bo ignored it. Xin Ran Mingbi. Governor Yan was not willing to accept it, and secretly ordered people to report Wang Bo's articles one by one. When he reported that "the old county of Yuzhang, the new mansion of Hongdu, the stars are divided into wings, the ground is connected to Henglu...", Yan said: so The beginning was normal. ——When it was reported again that "there are treasures in the world, the dragon's light shines over the ruins of the bullfight; there are outstanding people, Xu Ru is sitting on Chen Fan's bed...", Yan had already sat silently, and when it was reported again: "The setting clouds and the solitary swans are flying together. "When the autumn water and the long sky are the same color," Yan slapped the table and exclaimed, "What a genius." Wherever the pen was written down in the hall, everyone was shocked. Suddenly someone shouted, "This is an old work by the ancients, not a new one by Bo. I will try to chant it." Everyone watching, it was Wu Zizhang. The words Bi Zizhang blurted out, word for word. Everyone was also shocked and looked at each other, not knowing how to respond. Wang Bo smiled and said since it is an old work, could there be a poem at the end? Zizhang said: I have never heard of it. Bo Ti pen added a seven-rhythm poem after the article, "The high pavilion of the King of Teng is adjacent to the river, and the jade-wearing luan is singing and dancing. The painted buildings are flying towards the Nanpu clouds, and the red curtains are rolling in the rain on the western mountains at dusk. The shadows in the idle cloud pool are long and leisurely, and the objects are changing and the stars are moving several times. Autumn. Where is the emperor's son in the pavilion? The Yangtze River flows outside the threshold. "It goes hand in hand with the whole text. When it comes to writing, "Where is the emperor's son now in the pavilion? Outside the threshold, the Yangtze River flows freely." Regarding the blank spaces in the poem, everyone did not know the word, and there was a lot of discussion. Some said that the word "water" should be written, and some said that the word "ren" should be filled in. , Wang Bo said with a smile, the space is both "empty". After hearing this, Wu Zizhang was speechless. Everyone knew about the "Emperor in the Pavilion" and the now demoted Teng Wang Li Yuanying. How could there be anything about today's people in the old works? !

Immediately, the stonemason rubbed and carved it onto the already prepared stele on the spot. A masterpiece that has been passed down through the ages. Tengwang Pavilion also became famous all over the world because of this sequence, and its reputation will last forever.

A "Hundred Butterflies" hangs high behind the screen wall. Because Li Yuanying, the king of Teng, was a master at painting pink butterflies, later generations specially used the method of gold tracing to draw this "Picture of Hundred Butterflies" to pay tribute to this romantic prince.

Going upstairs from here are the Jingdezhen Porcelain Exhibition, the Bamboo Carving Exhibition of Celebrity Inscriptions, the Miniature Sculpture Exhibition, etc. The top floor is a small stage, where there are regular singing and dancing performances in ancient costumes, recreating the prosperous scene of Tengwang Pavilion's singing and dancing life. Unfortunately, time was limited and I could not take a closer look at them one by one, so I reluctantly left Tengwang Pavilion.

The next day, after dinner, I made an appointment with a few friends and walked out of the hotel. During the chat, I heard one of the comrades who had worked in Nanchang say that this place is only 15 minutes away from Tengwang Pavilion. . This reminded me of my attachment to Tengwang Pavilion and decided to visit Tengwang Pavilion again. In the evening, Tengwang Pavilion was quiet. Most of the surrounding businesses had closed their doors, and there were very few pedestrians on the road. From a distance, Tengwang Pavilion is immersed in twilight, looking a bit desolate. Although the rays of light at sunset have not yet exhausted, the outline of Tengwang Pavilion is somewhat blurred. A few rays of afterglow set off the antique pavilion, but there is also a feeling of "water and sky are one color". The ancient pavilion in Yuxiazhong is very inconsistent with the surrounding modern high-rise buildings. Not only does it block our vision, it also destroys our infinite reverie. The ticket office door had been closed two hours ago, and we actually walked for half an hour on the way back.

On the afternoon of leaving Nanchang, a few of us were chatting in the hotel. Another comrade proposed to go to Tengwang Pavilion again, and I readily agreed. It was one or two o'clock at noon, the sky was clear, no one dared to stand under the sun, and tourists didn't know where they were hiding. At this time, the Tengwang Pavilion looked majestic and majestic, making people dare not look up. From the pavilion, you can overlook the distant mountains and the Yangtze River, feeling relaxed and happy.

Three visits to Tengwang Pavilion seemed to have ended my childhood dream, but it seemed to have deepened my attachment to Tengwang Pavilion.

With nostalgia for Jiangxi and reverie about Tengwang Pavilion, I reluctantly embarked on my way home. The moment I left Nanchang, facing the roaring Gan River, I couldn't help but think to myself, I don't know when I can visit Tengwang Pavilion again!
