The most interesting feature of Yuanyang is that it stops in pairs and flies in pairs. For thousands of years, Yuanyang has always been a beautiful symbol of husband and wife living in harmony and loving each other, and it is also the embodiment of faithful and pure love in China's literary works, which is highly respected. However, according to scientific research, Yuanyang is not unique to life.

Mandarin ducks breed mostly in Northeast China and Inner Mongolia. Overwintering in southeast provinces, Fujian and Guangdong; A few are resident birds in Taiwan Province, Yunnan and Guizhou. There is a Baiyanxi River with a length of 1 1 km in pingnan county, Fujian. The stream is beautiful, and the mountains on both sides are quiet. Thousands of Yuanyang spend the winter here every year, which is also called Yuanyang River. It is the first Yuanyang Nature Reserve in China.

It belongs to the national second-class protected animals.

Mandarin ducks, also known as birds and official ducks, were first compared to brothers in ancient China. Among the selected works, there are some poems, such as "I used to be a mandarin duck, but now I am a participant in business" and "I am bound by my own flesh and blood". This is a farewell poem between brothers. Zheng Feng, a native of A Jin, has four songs "Answering Lu Shilong". The preface to the poem "Yuanyang Pu" reads: "Yuanyang Pu is beautiful and virtuous, and two sages fly to Dongyue." Yuanyang is a metaphor for Lu Ji and Lu Yuan here. Couples are attached to mandarin ducks, which originated from the poem "Ancient Meaning of Chang 'an" written by the Tang Dynasty poet Lu. There is a saying in the poem that "I would rather be a mandarin duck than a fairy", which praises the beautiful love. Later, some scholars actually followed suit. Cui Bao's Notes on Ancient and Modern Times said: "Yuanyang, waterfowl and pheasant never leave home. If a person gets it, he will die of lovesickness, so he is called a bird. "Li Shizhen's Compendium of Materia Medica also said that it" swims all day, meaning in the middle of the water ". Or: Men sing mandarin ducks and women sing mandarin ducks. Some people think that the word "Yuanyang" is actually a homophonic transformation of the word "Yin and Yang", taking this bird's habit of "stopping is even, flying is double". Since ancient times, the words "lover", "lover's union", "lover's bed" and "lover's sword" all contain the meaning of love between men and women, and "lover playing in the water" is a common theme in Chinese New Year pictures. Based on people's understanding of Yuanyang, there are many beautiful legends and fairy tales about Yuanyang, praising pure love. There is a record in the Book of Searching for God (Volume 11) written by Gambao and Han's wife: In ancient Song Dynasty, there was a doctor named Han, and his wife was very beautiful. Song Kangwang took her away. Hatred, the king was imprisoned. Suicide. The wife soiled her clothes. The king went on stage with him, fell off the stage, took it from left to right, and died naked. The suicide note reads: I would like to return my body to Han and bury it together. The king was angry, and the second burial place was opposite. After nightfall, the second burial place of Zimu suddenly appeared, with its roots below and branches attached to it. There are birds, such as mandarin ducks, males and females, constantly inhabiting their trees, and their voices are touching.

Yuanyang often has lovers, who love each other on the water, carefree and charming. Sometimes they jump into the water, lead their necks to hit the water, chase comedies, sometimes climb ashore, shake off water droplets and comb them carefully with orange mouths.
