Poetry with rhetorical devices

As a rhetorical device, rhetorical question is widely used in ancient Chinese poetry, which not only improves the expressive ability of poetic sentences, but also achieves the due aesthetic effect. So, what is a rhetorical question? Asking questions is a rhetorical device. You can highlight the questions and answer them yourself or not. It is a kind of language application form of "asking without doubt" or "knowing perfectly well past asking". Its essence is not to question, but to improve the expression effect. The aesthetic significance of rhetorical devices of rhetorical questions can be seen from the perspectives of "asking without answering" and "asking with answering".

First of all, the aesthetic significance of question-and-answer style.

"Question and answer" is the most basic rhetorical way. In China's ancient poems, "question and answer" is the most widely used language form.

For example, Li Yu's Yu Meiren:

When is the spring flower and autumn moon, how much is known about the past. The small building was easterly again last night, and the old country could not bear to look back on the moon. The jade carving should still exist, but Zhu Yan changed it. How much sadness can you have? It's just a river flowing eastward.

How much sadness can you have? It's just a river flowing eastward. " The first question, the second answer. This kind of self-questioning and self-answering clearly shows that it is not "asking when in doubt", but just using "asking" to attract readers' attention, so as to emphasize that their thoughts and feelings are as deep as the river, and their sorrows are as endless as the river.

Another example is Mulan Poetry, which begins with four sentences:

Ask a woman what she thinks and what she remembers. Women have nothing to think about, and women have nothing to remember. Last night, I saw the military post, and Khan ordered more soldiers. The military books have 12 volumes, all with the names of lords.

At the beginning of the poem, Mulan sighed, and her parents asked her daughter, What were you thinking when you sighed? (Mulan replied) I didn't think of anything, and I didn't miss anything, because I read the military orders last night and knew that the emperor was recruiting troops on a large scale. There are many conscription lists with my father's name on them. Here, the poet used rhetorical devices of rhetorical questions and "asked"

Answer. "My parents heard my daughter's sigh and asked her why she sighed out of concern and love for her daughter. My daughter answered. In the answer, the poet not only shows the reasons for Mulan's sigh, but also helps to promote the development of the event, attract readers' attention in the question and answer, and better feel the true feelings and sadness expressed by Mulan in her sigh.

Secondly, the aesthetic significance of "asking without answering" in setting questions.

Biography of Mr. Wuliu is a biography written by pastoral poet Tao Yuanming, which belongs to biographical literature. Biography has strong authenticity characteristics. Liang Shi and Xiao Tong said in the Biography of Tao Yuanming: "? Taste and read the biography of Mr. Wu Liu and record it in people. " In other words, the image of Mr. Wu Liu in the article is the one that Tao Yuanming painted for himself.

At the beginning of the article, the poet implied that he was a hermit by replacing reality with emptiness, and then described Mr. Wu Liu's character, life and interest. Especially the good reading described in the article does not need much understanding; If you are addicted to alcohol, you will get drunk every time you drink; I often write articles to entertain myself and so on. This is true.
