Why did Qianlong write poems for himself in his later years? The mystery of Qianlong's birthplace

Mystery of Gan Long's birthplace: Legend has it that when Yongzheng was a prince, he went hunting in Jehol one autumn and shot down a sika deer with a few arrows. The young prince Yong immediately had the deer slaughtered. He drank a big bowl of deer blood. Deer blood has a strong aphrodisiac effect. Prince Yong couldn't control himself after drinking it, and there was no princess around, so he pulled a Han maid-in-waiting named Li in the villa to vent. The following year, Gan Long went to the summer resort for his birthday, and Jiaqing wrote a poem to celebrate his birthday. In the comments on this poem, the birthplace of Gan Long, the "emperor's father", was made more clear. He clearly wrote: "Your Majesty, Mao Xin was born in Du Fu Ting, a villa."

It stands to reason that it should be clear where a person lives. What's more, the descendants of the Imperial Dragon and historians took notes, which attracted the attention of thousands of people all over the world. What can be controversial? But it happened that I couldn't make it clear with Master Ganlong. For a long time, there are two exciting stories about where Gan Longsheng came from.

Gan Long thinks that he was born in the Lama Temple.

The Lama Temple, located in the northeast of the old city of Beijing, is a famous Lama Temple. However, when Kangxi was here, it was not called Lama Temple, but called Qin Yong Palace, where Yongzheng lived when he was a prince. After Yongzheng ascended the throne and proclaimed himself emperor, it was renamed "Lama Temple" because it was a forbidden place for hidden dragons. After Qianlong succeeded to the throne, he enshrined the portrait of his father Yongzheng in the inner court of Yonghe Palace, and sent lamas to recite scriptures every day. Qianlong himself goes to the Lama Temple to have a look in the first month of every year, and usually goes in for a while when passing by.

Fifty years after visiting the Lama Temple in the first month, Qianlong wrote a poem saying:

One-year-old Yuelong Building,

The annual ceremony must be completed. ……

Looking forward to the people's day,

I miss being born, too

"People's Day" is what the ancients called the seventh day of the first month. Qianlong means that when you go to the Lama Temple to worship on the seventh day of the first month, you can't help feeling that you were born here. There are many similar poems, such as: "Although there is no purpose to live in the house, I still remember that I was here at the beginning." "I still remember that when I was born, I suddenly came to eighty."

In particular, in a poem in the Chronicle of the Lama Temple, Qianlong clearly wrote: "I am familiar with the East Room of Zhai Ge, remembering my loved ones and thinking about my life." Here, Qianlong not only confirmed that he was born in the Lama Temple, but also vaguely pointed out the specific location, just in the east wing of the Lama Temple.

However, when Gan Long was still alive, some people questioned his birthplace. Some people think that Qianlong was not born in the Lama Temple, but a summer resort outside the Great Wall.

At that time, there was a well-known military aircraft in North Korea called Guan Shiming. In the process of hunting with Qianlong in Chengde Mountain Villa, he wrote 34 poems, the fourth of which said:

Celebrate good luck and open the rainbow in Zhu Hua.

Life still remembers the old palace.

I'm afraid to burn incense every day every year.

The edge of the lion garden feels sacred.

After this quatrain, Guan Shiming made the following comments: "The lion garden is the place where the emperor was born, and he often stays in the fairy temple on the anniversary of the emperor's death." This means that the Lion Garden is the birthplace of Emperor Qianlong, so Qianlong often stays there for a few days on the anniversary of yongzheng emperor's death.

Lion Garden is a garden outside chengde mountain resort, which is named after a mountain that looks like a lion behind it. Kangxi went to Jehol for the summer, and Yongzheng was often accompanied as a prince. The Lion Garden was the permanent residence of Prince Yong's family in Jehol at that time. Guan Shiming and other people in the ruling and opposition circles believe that this garden is the birthplace of Qianlong.

How credible is Guan Shiming's words? Guan Shiming is 20 years younger than Gan Long and can be said to be a contemporary of Gan Long. His rank is not high, but he has been involved in the secret affairs of the emperor in the military department for more than ten years. It should be said that he knows something about the Forbidden City. He has a wide network of contacts in officialdom, especially with a dynasty veteran, Gui, so his information source is very wide, so it is not surprising that he is familiar with some rumors of emperors in the dynasty. As a military aircraft, accompanied by Hu, he entered the villa and Mulan, and was familiar with the emperor's actions and daily life in the summer resort. The anniversary of yongzheng emperor's death is the anniversary of yongzheng emperor's death. The fact that Gan Long went to the Lion Garden to burn incense was similar to the fact that Gan Long had to go to the Lion Garden every time he stayed in a villa. From the above comprehensive analysis, Guan Shiming dared to write the meanings of "The Lion Garden was the place where the emperor was born" and "When he was born, he remembered the old palace", and the poems at that time were relatively rigid, indicating that Guan Shiming still existed.

Probably in his later years, Qianlong heard the gossip about his birthplace. After he went to the Lama Temple to worship Buddha in the first month at the age of 72, he wrote a poem saying: "Shi Yu Kangxi Xin Mao was born in the palace." Gan Long explained that I was indeed born in this Lama Temple in the year of Emperor Kangxi's Xin Mao. The Xin Mao year of Kangxi refers to the fifty years of Kangxi. Gan Long emphasized here that he was indeed born in the Lama Temple. Obviously, it was done in response to the rumors outside.

In the first month of Qianlong's seventy-nine, he went to the Lama Temple to worship Buddha and wrote a poem with seven laws. In the annotation, Gan Long once again clearly reiterated: "Xin Mao was born in the palace and was raised in the palace by the emperor's ancestor (referring to Kangxi) at the age of twelve."

In order to avoid rumors, 70-year-old Gan Long has repeatedly stressed that he was born in the Lama Temple in Beijing, not anywhere else.

But strangely, his son Jiaqing, the heir of Qianlong, also thought that Qianlong the Great was born in Jehol. In August of the first year of Jiaqing, Qianlong went to the summer resort for his birthday as the emperor's father. Jiaqing wrote a poem to celebrate. The first two sentences of the poem are: "Zhao Jian Villa is celebrating the Spring Festival, and life is infinitely celebrated." Jiaqing commented after these two poems: "Kangxi xinmao built a mountain villa, the year when the emperor's father was born ... the cause is incredible."

In Xin Mao's year, Kangxi personally inscribed the "Summer Resort" plaque, and 36 imperial poems of the summer resort were collected and published at the same time. Therefore, Emperor Jiaqing said: "Kangxi Xinmao built a villa", and "Tai Shang Huang" of course refers to Tai Shang Huang. There is no doubt that Qianlong was born in the fifty years of Kangxi. "Wanfuge" means the place where all the blessings gather, literally referring to the summer resort. Coherent, that is, "Tai Shang Huang" Qianlong was born in the villa during Xinmao years, which coincides with the time when Kangxi built the villa. At the same time, the reason is really "incredible".

The following year, Gan Long went to the summer resort for his birthday, and Jiaqing wrote another poem to celebrate his birthday. In the comments on this poem, the birthplace of Gan Long, the "emperor's father", was made more clear. He clearly wrote: "Your Majesty, Mao Xin was born in Du Fu Ting, a villa."

The poems and notes written by Jiaqing in these two times show that, in his view, it is certain that "Tai Shang Huang" was born in Jehol.
