Original poem: "Delighting in Rain on a Spring Night"
Tang Dynasty: Du Fu
Good rain knows the season, when spring comes.
Sneak into the night with the wind, moisten things silently.
The wild path is dark, and the river is bright.
Look at the red and wet place, the flowers in Jinguancheng are heavy.
Good rain knows best how to choose the right time to promote the germination and growth of plants in the spring when everything recovers. At night, with the soft spring breeze, it drops quietly on the earth, nourishing everything.
One rainy night, looking around, I saw darkness in the wild, thick dark clouds hanging over the field path, and the flashing lights of fishing boats on the river were particularly bright. If we watch the dew-covered delicate flowers in full bloom after dawn, the whole city of Jinguan will become a sea of flowers, showing a beautiful flower scene.

Creation background
This poem was written in the spring of the second year of Shang Yuan in Tang Suzong (76 1). After a period of exile, Du Fu finally settled in Chengdu, Sichuan due to the drought in Shaanxi, and began a relatively stable life in Shu.
At the beginning of the poem, the poet praised the spring rain with the word "good" and personalized it. Then use a vivid word "knowledge" to make heartless, ignorant and knowledgeable, saying that it knows how to meet objective needs and make spring rain spiritual. "Sneak into the night with the wind and moisten things silently.
"It is to effectively implement the word' good'. Rain is "good" because it is timely, unobtrusive, moist and silent. Spring rain has a beautiful character of selflessly nourishing everything, silently contributing and not asking for anything in return. " Wild trails and clouds are all black, and rivers and boats are bright. "
"Black" and "bright" set each other off into interest, pointing out thick clouds and rain feet, creating a strong aesthetic feeling, like an extremely vivid night scene in the rain, which is displayed in front of people. "Xiao looks at the red and wet place, and Jinguan City is heavy." This is an imaginary scene, which is closely related to the "happiness" in the poem title, so as to fully associate the charming scene of Jinguan City in the early morning after the rain.
In particular, the word "heavy" accurately describes the delicate and vibrant modality of flowers baptized by spring rain, and embodies the poet's praise for spring rain. The whole poem is rigorous in structure, exquisite in words and delicate in description, as if it can breathe a pleasant breath of spring between the lines. It is worthy of being a famous ancient poem describing the rainy scene on a spring night and expressing joy.
