Where is the ancient town of Jingangbei?

Jingangbei Ancient Town is located in the lower reaches of Jialing River in Jinyun Mountain, BeiWenquan Town, Beibei District, Chongqing, 5 kilometers away from Beibei City. Here are beautiful mountains and rivers, towering old trees and flowing water. This used to be the most remote mountain village in Grain Rain. As early as the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, small coal mines were all over the southern slope of Jinyun Mountain, and the coal industry was booming. Coal must be transported to other places through the export of Jialing River in Jingangbei, thus forming land and water terminals and transfer stations for coal production, transportation and sales.

The main economy of the ancient town of Jingangbei

In order to survive, some farmers went to Jinyun Mountain to transport coal and build houses in Jingangbei. During the Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty, the Diamond Monument became increasingly prosperous, with hundreds of rice shops, oil mills, restaurants, teahouses, inns and blacksmiths all over the country. The coal transport team also formed mule gangs, boat gangs, caravan gangs and manpower gangs.

Ship owners, landlords, coal merchants and Lifu built a simple and applicable old house with stone walls, earth walls and bamboo walls on the first floor and the first floor on both sides of Jingangbeixi River, and built it by the mountain, which has a unique Bayu style. Paved with bluestone slabs, it is a bluestone street with a width of 2 meters and a length of over 500 meters. The blue tile houses on both sides extend with the winding mountain. By the time of the Republic of China, several large residential buildings such as Yaojiayuan, Xiongjiayuan and Zhengjiayuan had been formed.
