Mo Tao's slanderers are as deep as waves, and Mo Yan's guests are as heavy as sand.
Although it is hard, it is difficult to blow out crazy sand when it is not golden.

Don't say that gossip is as frightening as bad waves, and don't say that degenerate people are always as decadent and addicted as mud. Liu Yuxi (772-842), born in Pengcheng (now Xuzhou) in the Tang Dynasty in China, was a writer and philosopher in the Tang Dynasty.

During Yongzhenyuan period, Liu Yuxi was demoted to Lianzhou secretariat, went to Jiangling, and later demoted to Langzhou Sima. On one occasion, when he returned to Beijing on a imperial edict, he was demoted to the state secretariat for "visiting the customs" and was later appointed as the state secretariat. Instead of sinking, he faced the changes in the world with a positive and optimistic attitude. This poem just expresses his feelings.
