1. Creation background
This poem was written in the early spring of the third year (1167) of Song Xiaozong Main Road, when Lu You was retiring from office and living at home. Prior to this, Lu You was a judge in Longxing Prefecture (now Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province). In the second year of Longxing (1164), he actively supported Zhang Jun, the general who resisted gold, in the northern expedition. After Fu Li's defeat, he was pushed out by the court lords and capitulationists.
