The historical allusion of Three Lane of Plum Blossoms is the story of Huan Yi, a general of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, playing three plum blossoms for Wang Huizhi, a madman. This allusion is recorded in 51 biographies of the Book of Jin and 23 Shi Shuo Dan.

One day, the blooming plum blossoms were withered by the wind and rain at night. Chen Risheng took Mei Liangyu to worship sincerely again and prayed for the plum blossom to reopen. Mei Liangyu finally went to Beijing, won the first prize and married Chen Risheng's daughter.

3. Walking through the snow in Xun Mei

During the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty, the poet Meng Haoran always walked up and down the Hanshui Beach from Lumen Mountain in Xiangyang to Dawangzhou. When people curiously asked him if he was looking for anything, Meng Haoran looked up and replied, "I am in Xun Mei". The villagers saw his footprints on the snow, which really looked like "plum blossoms" scattered on Dawangzhou.
