I waited slowly and reluctantly, day after day, until now I had to leave. Old friend, how sweet the roadside flowers would be if they didn't mean goodbye.
The lords of the kingdom are very hard on us, and the people who handle affairs are not our own kind. You should just be lonely, and I will close the door of my old garden.
Translation:
What is this loneliness waiting for? Every day is disappointment.
I wanted to find a quiet mountain forest to hide, but I was separated from my old friend.
Who can quote me? There are really few intimate friends in the world.
You should just live a lonely life, shut down upper Chai Men and be isolated from the world.

This poem was written by Meng Haoran after touring Beijing, and was tried by Jinshi. According to Wen Yuan Biography of Old Tang Dynasty, Meng Haoran "came to the capital at the age of forty and returned to Xiangyang as a scholar." According to "Biography of Meng Haoran in the New Tang Dynasty", Wang Wei invited Meng Haoran to join the internal division. "I am Xuanzong, Haoran is hiding under the bed, and I am right."
The emperor ordered him to go out and asked him about his poems. Haoran wrote it himself (referring to going to Zhongnanshan at the end of the year), and when he came to the sentence "I slipped and was demoted by a wise king", Xuanzong said: I won't abandon you if you don't seek an official position. Why did you falsely accuse me? Due to release. So Meng Haoran decided to retire from the mountains, but he was reluctant to part with his friends, so he wrote the poem "Parting Wang Wei".
