1. On a spring night, the bamboo pavilion gave money to the Shaofu and returned to Lantian.
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
The night was quiet, and the crowd was moving, and sometimes I heard dogs in the forest.
But I recall that when I was in the mountains, the stream was far to the west.
Xianjun sent his hair out brightly and picked ferns to light up his crown.
Translation: In the quiet spring night, all living things have ceased. From time to time, I can hear a few barks of dogs through the bamboo forest. But it reminded me of when I was in the mountains, where there were people’s homes far to the west of the mountain stream. I really envy you that you are about to leave home tomorrow. You are content with your fern-picking life and look down upon your high position.
2. Autumn darkness in the mountains
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
After the new rain in the empty mountains, autumn comes late. The bright moon shines among the pines, and the clear spring flows over the rocks.
The bamboo noise returns to Huan Nu, and the lotus moves off the fishing boat. The spring fragrance rests at will, and the king and grandson can stay.
Translation: The valley is empty and fresh after the new rain, and the weather is particularly cool in the early autumn evening. The bright moon shines in the quiet pine forest, and clear spring water flows on the rocks. The girl in the bamboo forest laughed loudly as she returned from washing. The lotus leaves swayed gently as she wandered up and down the boat. Although the beauty of spring has faded, the autumn scenery in front of us is enough to make people linger.
3. Returning to the garden and living in the fields·Part 3
Wei and Jin Dynasties: Tao Yuanming
Bean planting at the foot of the southern mountain, the grass is full of bean seedlings. I wake up in the morning to sort out the wasteland and filth, and return with a hoe in the moonlight.
The road is narrow, the grass and trees are long, and the evening dew touches my clothes. It's not enough to regret the stain on your clothes, but your wishes are fulfilled.
Translation: I plant beans at the foot of Nanshan Mountain, where weeds are lush and bean seedlings are sparse. I get up early in the morning and go to the fields to remove weeds, and return home under the moonlight when night falls. The mountain path is narrow and overgrown with vegetation, and my clothes were wet with dew at night. It's not a pity that my clothes got wet, I just hope I don't violate my intention to go into seclusion.
4. Going out of the suburbs
Ming Dynasty: Yang Shen
High fields are like stairs, and flat fields are like chess boards.
The egret suddenly flew over and pricked the green needles of the rice seedlings.
Translation: The fields on the hillside are like stairs, and the fields on the flat ground are like chessboards. Suddenly an egret flew into the rice field and put white dots on a patch of green seedlings.
5. Pastoral Works in Spring
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
The spring doves are singing on the house, and the apricot blossoms are white beside the village. Holding an ax to cut down the distant mountains, hoeing the spring veins. ?
Returning to Yan recognizes the old nest, and the old sees the new calendar. When I'm standing in front of my cup, I suddenly feel helpless, and I feel melancholy as a traveler from afar.
Translation: A spring dove is chirping on the house, and large white apricot flowers are blooming beside the village. He held the ax to straighten the long branches of the mulberry tree, and picked up the hoe to inspect the path of the spring. Last year's swallow flew back, as if it knew its old nest. The old owner of the house was looking through the New Year's calendar. He raised his glass to drink, but stopped again. Thinking of leaving his homeland to be a guest, he couldn't help but feel melancholy and regretful.
6. Four of Seven Pastoral Music
Tang Dynasty: Wang Wei
The spring grass is green in autumn, and the fallen pines are long and cold in summer.
The cattle and sheep return to the village and alleys, and children are ignorant of clothes.
Translation: The lush spring grass still shows a vibrant green color in autumn. Tall and straight pine trees provide cool shade in summer. The cattle and sheep do not need to be driven away, they will return to the alleys of the village by themselves. Children are innocent and do not know dignitaries.
