Creation background

This group of five-character quatrains is the poet's early work Wandering Southwest, which was written in the second year of Guangde (764). Du Fu wrote this poem after seeing the beautiful spring scenery in Sichuan Caotang.

Because the poet organically organizes the spring breeze, flowers and their fragrance, through association, we can have the feeling of facing the wind, blooming flowers and being sent flowers by the wind, and receive the artistic effect as if we were on the scene. On the basis of bright and broad pictures, three or four sentences turn to a concrete and vivid description of the early spring scenery.
