This poem was written for Mao Zedong's classmate, Zhou Shizhao, an old friend when he started Xinmin Society when he was young, and gave it to Li Da and Le Tianyu. The author's handwriting of this poem was originally entitled "Answering Zhou Shizhao's classmates", but later it was changed to "Answering friends".
Theme appreciation:
The first two sentences of this poem give people a romantic and ethereal impression of a fairy going down the mountain. The next two sentences describe the fairy's voice and appearance, including the beautiful figure of Yang Kaihui martyr and the poet's early wife. Heaven, earth, god and man are one and inseparable. Thousands of bright tears are condensed on bamboo. Xia Hong Patch is a fairy's dress and a symbol and metaphor of Yang Kaihui spirit.
