From: Du Mu [Tang Dynasty] Jinguyuan.
Original: Prosperity scatters fragrant dust, and flowing water gives birth to grass and spring. The birds groaned, and night came with the sound of the east wind; Falling flowers are as beautiful as green beads falling from upstairs.
Interpretation: the prosperous past has been exhausted with the incense dust, leaving no trace. Spring grass grows older and greener, and running water flows away quietly and mercilessly. At dusk, birds crow in the east wind, and falling flowers are like people falling from a building.
Jinguyuan is a seven-character quatrain written by Du Mu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty. This is an impromptu poem. The poet passed by the ruins of Jinguyuan, a rich man in the Western Jin Dynasty, hanging his ancient feelings. The previous sentence says that the prosperity of Jinguyuan in the past is gone forever;
The second sentence says that although the personnel are absent, the scenery is different; Three or four sentences are emotional, and listening to birds sounds like sadness; Seeing the falling flowers on the ground, I thought of Shi Chong's concubine, Lvzhu, who committed suicide by jumping off a building. Every sentence is about scenery, and every level must be in-depth. There are people in the scene and there are feelings in the scene. Writing about scenery is meaningful, lyrical and sad.

Creation background
Du Mu crossed Jingu Garden and wrote this song "Ode to Spring". Facing the barren garden, the poet first thought of the prosperous past of Jingu Garden, which disappeared with the fragrant dust. How many emotions are contained in the sentence "Flourishing fragrance and dust".
In the evening, just as the poet was daydreaming about running water and spring grass, suddenly the east wind brought birds singing. It is a pleasant thing for birds to sing in spring.
But at this time, the sun sets and night falls; This place is a deserted and famous garden, coupled with the slightly cool spring breeze in the evening, in the ears of poets who are addicted to nostalgia for the past, the singing of birds seems sad and pathetic, as if expressing the feelings of the past and the present.
Sunset, easterly winds and birdsong are common sights in spring. With the word "resentment", it is covered with a layer of sentimental color. At this time, a sad falling flower came into the poet's eyes again. The poet associated the image of falling flowers in a specific place (Jingu Garden) with the death of the green pearl that happened here, which contained infinite feelings.
The word "Jude" is permeated with many nostalgia and pity of the poet. Lvzhu, as a plaything of the dignitaries, dying for Shi Chong is not worth it to her, but her fate is as pitiful as falling flowers.
The poet's association not only shows the similarity in appearance between "falling from the building" and "falling flowers", but also reveals the similarity in fate between the green beads and "falling flowers". This metaphor is natural and meaningful.
