Fan Xiping and Shi Xiangxia, the masters of Go in the Qing Dynasty, were both known as the "Sages of Go". They were from the same hometown, the same age, and studied under the same sect.
Shi Xiangxia entered the school late and had a somewhat impatient temper. He played chess with Fan Xiping and focused on winning, but he often failed.
Suffering from the fact that he had not made much progress, Shi Xiangxia left the school in anger and did not want to study anymore.
On the way back to his hometown, he found a chess game made of stones in a mountain pavilion. He couldn't help but study it and found that the chess game has endless mysteries.
While he was looking at it in fascination, a white-haired old Taoist priest came over. It turns out that the chess game was set up by the old Taoist priest.
He claimed that he was not good at chess. He just practiced Taoism in the mountains and watched the waterfalls and springs. Occasionally, his heart moved and he made a move.
Shi Xiangxia then asked to play a game with the old Taoist priest as a way to ask for advice.
The Taoist priest held the black chess piece, and Shi Xiangxia held the white chess piece. Not long after the game, the white chess piece was killed and the army was defeated.
The old Taoist priest Touzi sighed:
"You have been defeated, what else can you do?"
Shi Xiangxia felt ashamed and knelt down to become his disciple. , was rejected by the old Taoist priest.
The old Taoist priest said:
"Playing chess does not rely on teaching, and you cannot force victory or defeat. The results all depend on personal understanding. If there is no chess in your heart, there will be chess everywhere!"

He pointed to the flowing water in the mountains and said:
"Look at the mountain springs in the ravines, the flowing water does not fight for the first place!"
"The flowing water does not fight for the first place", this This sentence is like a wake-up call, waking up Shi Xiangxia. The flowing water will turn around or even make a detour when it encounters obstacles. But as the water gathers more and more, the obstacles are no longer obstacles!
The wisdom of "Don't rush to be first when the water is running" comes from Laozi's "Tao Te Ching".
In the "Tao Te Ching", "water is good for all things without fighting for it", "don't dare to be the first in the world", "do it without fighting for it", etc., all speak of the wisdom of "not fighting for the first".
1. Human beings cannot compete with nature
The way of heaven circulates on its own without any other reliance, so it is called "nature".
Jia Pingwa said:
"On this earth, there are people, and there are also vegetation. The growth of vegetation is the same as the growth of humans."
People Like everything else, it is a part of nature.
The relationship between man and nature is equal, and man must respect nature.
As early as thousands of years ago, the ancients specifically stipulated in the "Book of Rites" that young crops and young animals should not be harmed, and trees should not be cut down in the mountains in spring.
Only by truly respecting nature can we respect life.
