Creation background This poem was written in 749, the eighth year of Tianbao, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, and Cen Can joined the army for the first time. "Write in the middle" is to write this poem in the desert. Judging from the poem "When I leave home, I will see the moon twice", Cen Can has been away from Chang 'an for nearly two months. Camping in the desert of vast expanse, I happened to meet the fifteenth moon and wrote this quatrain. In the Tang Dynasty, Cen Can's frontier poems had unique exoticism and interest. He went to the frontier fortress twice and had a deep understanding of frontier fortress life and deep feelings for frontier fortress scenery.
