Bodhi mountain culture

Changshou District is the only district with the name of "Changshou" among 2862 districts and counties in China. The place name of Changshou District benefited from a beautiful legend circulated in Ming Dynasty: "Two and a half rounds of flowers, seven generations of grandchildren". This place name and legend reflect that Changshou District was once a blessed place with beautiful scenery and many longevity stars in ancient times, and the local longevity culture has a long history. Historical materials such as Changshou County Records and Zhongshu Guang Zhi said that "there is Changshou Mountain in the county, and those who live below it live a long life, so it is named as a famous county". There are two legends about the famous Changshou county: "satellite worships the birthday star" and "Seisensui who often drinks stones". However, these old-fashioned sites no longer exist, and the legend is in a state of relative disconnection from reality, which cannot fully show the glorious history of longevity.

The origin of the name Bodhi Mountain is recorded in Changshou County Records: it was named after bodhidharma came here.

In the spring and February of Ming Dynasty (1507), the magistrate Dai Jin thought that "the sunrise is in the east, you come to Jing Yue (there is Jingshan in the east of the county), and the sunrise is in the west, which shines in Jing Yue. The words "scenery" and "scenery" are created by nature. If the mountain is named Bodhi, it is meaningless and should be renamed Jingshan. " Since then, Bodhi Mountain has also been called Jingshan Mountain. Dai Jinyou wrote a poem and said:

There is a mountain floating in the sky, the top of which is better than the wind-driven river.

The rain is still cold and blue, and the stone hair is green and old.

Ride a horse, smoke, win, and seek dragons to separate water and welcome dust.

High fame is immortal, between the word "empty door"

Bodhi Mountain is one of the eight old scenic spots in Changshou. In history, there were 1 cast iron columns made by big branches of Ming monks, the length of which exceeded 16 meters. They are inserted at the top of the mountain, with lights on them. At night, lights are everywhere, and they can be seen from far and near. The poem "Yi Deng on Bodhi Mountain" is familiar to all the people in the county. Although its lamppost has long been abandoned, the place name of lamppost fort still exists. The popular Buddhist temples were once full of Buddha's light and unique. In addition, there is Dinghui Temple built in the Song Dynasty. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that "the ancient temple has broken smoke, and the Ming River is under the five tables". When I first returned to my earthly dream, I suddenly rang the doorbell at dawn. Send cold mountains and moons at night, and the water is clear. Want to know more, listen to the sound here. "The beautiful scenery conveys the voice of Buddhist disciples, but it's a pity that you can't see its charm now. The existing Torin Temple is an imitation of the architecture of Ming Dynasty and Song Dynasty, and its structure follows the Buddhist tradition. The Buddha statues in the temple are carved solemnly and decorated meticulously. The legend of the monk Jigong is branded here, which has high religious culture and cultural relics value. Tiantai Temple and Longquan Temple have similar status.
