Translation
Thin and sparse, the rain is falling; You can't get down much, but you won't stop.
Are you jealous that I like to enjoy the distant green hills too much? Deliberately dripping from the eaves into a bead curtain to cover the thousand peaks and cliffs.

Little things in life and natural scenery are always full of endless interest in Yang Wanli's works. Yang Wanli has traveled extensively in his life. In his poems, there are many landscapes. He especially likes the rain scene, so there are many people who write about rain. These poems, each with its own characteristics, are never tired of reading. This quatrain is written in drizzle. Rain is a sentimental thing, and Yang Wanli insisted on giving it the same feelings as people, which made the poem full of freshness.
The first two sentences of the poem describe the drizzle, saying that it is drizzling, and it is raining slowly, neither big nor willing to stop. The first sentence shows the light rain in the form of two groups of overlapping words, which is very vivid. Like the sentence "Light rain is like dust and smoke" in his "Rain Arrives at dusk and clears up", it is described in detail, but it is different to some extent. What is written here is light rain, not Mao Mao rain, so it is not as good as dust and smoke, but "thin" and "sparse". The second sentence is written from the rainfall, and it can't be too much and refuses to have nothing, and that is light rain.

This poem "Light Rain" is personified, saying that I like to see mountains all my life. The word "bead curtain" is very accurate, because the rain is not big, but it is still dripping a little, like a string of pearls; If it is heavy rain, the water line and water column will flow down, and the rain itself will become a curtain. The poet is making fun of the rain jealousy, but this fun is very interesting. Because of the jealousy of the rain, I hung up the bead curtain, but it made the original scenery seem more beautiful. Because it is a sparse bead curtain, looking at the distant peaks through it increases the fascination and is more poetic than looking at the mountains directly. In Jiang Shiquan's Album on Wang Shigu in the Qing Dynasty, there is a sentence "If you don't write about sunny mountains, it looks like a mirror", which tells the charm of green mountains in the rain. The mountain in front of Yang Wanli has such a charm, and it is also the artistic conception that Yang Wanli pursues. He also wrote in Autumn Rain Sigh: "Looking at Dongshan 3 miles horizontally, there is a green screen outside the pearl curtain." Looking at the graceful green hills through the pearl rain curtain in front of the window, I am full of joy.
The poem seems to blurt out without thinking. As he said in the poem "Narcissus and Lake Mountain in Late Cold", "The old man is not looking for a poem, but the poem comes to him". The language is bright and poetic, which is the characteristic of Yang Wanli's poems.
