Offline re-examination includes written examination and interview. The written test requires higher professional ability, that is, literary appreciation ability. Online re-examination is relatively easy, and there is no need for written examination, but it also requires high equipment and expression skills. After all, it takes only 20 minutes for professors to determine whether you are the student they want, and online re-examination is to convert the contents of written examination into questions and answers of oral examination, so you are required to be familiar with various schools and basic literary terms, and be able to express your views calmly (Guangwai likes to ask open-ended questions).
At first, I read two books, Reading and Appreciation of English Literature and Reading and Appreciation of American Literature, focusing on the introduction. When I passed the first time, I used a tablet as a mind map to facilitate the later recitation. I will also watch the appreciation of my works after class, using some websites such as Litcharts or Sparknotes as an aid. After these two books were written, I began to read An Introduction to Literature. To tell the truth, I don't think this book is very useful, because it talks about some very basic literary concepts, and the chapters on poetry are of great help to the appreciation of poetry in offline written examination. So I always look at what I think is more important, and then I will make a mind map. I haven't read this book since I read it once, and I will only read my mind map in the future.
