"Samson the Strong" is a long poem written by the British writer John Milton. Samson, the strong man of Israel, was betrayed by his lover Delilah the Philistine, the ruler of Israel, who blinded him. Samson never wanted revenge. Later, the Philistines forced Samson to practice martial arts, and Samson tore down the temple and died with his enemies. Samson is full of devotion, his imprudent marriage leads to misfortune, and he is blind but unyielding. These remind people of the author's own experience, as well as the author's inner pain and unyielding fighting spirit during the Restoration period. This poetic drama is written based on Greek tragedy, which prominently expresses the inner feelings of the characters and has shocking power.
