Say it's flowers, not flowers, say it's fog? Not fog. It came in the middle of the night and left at dawn.

Come like a spring dream, go like a floating cloud.

(3) How long: short and beautiful.

(4) gone: after leaving, like a cloud floating in the morning, there is nowhere to see.

Like flowers and not flowers, like fog and not fog, come at midnight and leave at dawn. It's like a short and beautiful spring dream when you come, and it's like a cloud in the morning when you leave.

Make an appreciative comment

Since Juyi was named a Buddhist in Xiangshan, the so-called Buddhist is a person who practices bodhi fruit bodhisattva at home, so the ancient characters have to be considered from Bai Juyi's identity.

Flowers are not flowers: in fact, they are the true state of nature and the best explanation for the author's practice and enlightenment. In other words, flowers don't grow because people give them names. Just like your name, it doesn't mean you. This is a pseudonym. And this behavior in monasticism is called polluting people's hearts.

Fog is not fog: ditto. If the fog in front refers to the natural phenomenon of "fog", it is obviously not the Chinese character of "fog" that everyone thinks.

How long has it been like a spring dream? So the following sentence points out the author's mind. Life is like a dream, such as a bubble, such as fog and electricity. It is also the author's feeling for his "past" and for those who still don't understand after understanding life and the truth that flowers are not flowers and fog is not fog.

Go like a cloud and find nowhere: same as above. People come and go, life is short and fate is ill-fated. Today you are a man with hands and feet, and after death you are a pile of ashes. This is the author's perception of impermanence. The feeling that all tones are empty. A sincere heart, who can solve it? Come like a spring dream, go like a cloud.
