How to appreciate Li Shangyin's Untitled?

Li shangyin

Notes on the title or background of a book.

Li Shangyin (8 13—858) was born in Yuxi Valley, Hanoi, in Tanghuaizhou (now Qinyang, Henan). Tang Wenzong Taihe for three years was appreciated by Linghu Chu when he was in our army, and he was hired as an adjutant. He studied ancient prose and parallel prose with Linghu Chu's son and was recommended as a scholar by Linghu Mao. After Linghu Chu died of illness, Li Shangyin had a bad career and entered the shogunate of our ambassador to Jingyuan, Wang Maoyuan. Wang Maoyuan married his daughter to him, which made him involved in the "Niu Li Party Struggle" [1] and died in grief and loneliness at the age of 46.

Li Shangyin's political frustration and family misfortune refined his poems. A large number of political poems and love poems, especially those without titles, are not only beautifully written, but also affectionate and meaningful, with confusing images and emotions, which makes people feel mysterious and meaningful to read.

This poem is selected from Notes on Selected Poems of Li Shangyin, Jilin Literature and History Publishing House, 2004.

I met her a long time ago, but since we separated, the time has become longer [2], and the east wind has started and a hundred flowers have blossomed [3].

Silkworms in spring weave until they die, and candles drain the wick every night.

In the morning, she saw in the mirror that her hair cloud was changing, but she dared to sing late songs in the moonlight.

There are not many routes from here to here in Pengshan [8]. Oh, bluebirds, listen! -Give me what she said! [9].

To annotate ...

[1] Party struggle between Niu and Li: the power struggle within the ruling group in the late Tang Dynasty. In the fourth year of Yuanhe, when Li Jifu was the prime minister, Niu Sangru and Li Zongmin were admitted to the examination. They took countermeasures and accused the current abuses. Li Jifu didn't like them. It was not until Li Jifu died that they entered the DPRK as officials. Since then, the two sides have drawn talents from each other and formed cronies. As long as one side wins, it is bound to be intolerant of the other side, especially when recruiting new people. The two sides are incompatible and mutually exclusive. Hu Ling Mao is a member of the Cattle Party. Therefore, Li Shangyin's visit to Wang Maoyuan's shogunate was regarded as "ungrateful" by the Niu Party.

[2] The ancients said that "it is not easy to get together", that is, "it is not easy to get together". Li Shangyin used it instead, emphasizing that "no" is not easy, and the first word of "difficult" is difficult. The second word "difficult" is painful. Just because it is not easy to meet each other, it is even more difficult to give up, and it is difficult to give up.

[3] Weak easterly wind: refers to the late spring season, when flowers bloom and wither, which is an environment for parting.

[4] Silk is the homonym of "thinking". These two sentences use traditional bi xing techniques to write endless lovesickness and love till death do us part.

[5] Every night, the candle will drip the wick dry: when the candle burns, the wax grease flowing out is called "wax tears". The candle burns out, but the wax tears don't flow. It means that the tears of acacia will not rest until death.

[6] Xiao Jing: refers to the heroine dressing up in front of the mirror in the morning. "Cloudy temples change" means that the face becomes haggard day by day. But sadness: just because of sadness. Sorrow: refers to acacia.

[7] It should be realized: imagine that the other person will sing at night like himself and feel the coldness of the moonlight.

[8] Pengshan: The legendary fairy mountain on the sea refers to the place where a woman misses her lover.

[9] Jade Bird: According to legend, the angel of Chinese and western heavenly women specially delivered messages for her. To (wèi) explore (tàn): try, try. I hope Jade Bird will send me a message.

Brief analysis

This is a masterpiece describing love, expressing the sadness of parting and the painful and persistent lovesickness between lovers in late spring.

The first couplet is a famous sentence that has been moving through the ages. Jiang Yan's "Biefu" said: "The ecstasy is only for farewell!" The successive use of the word "difficult" shows the sadness and mourning of "farewell". For couplets and necklaces, if you want to write about the lovesickness after parting, you should first use homophonic puns and concrete symbols to express your endless lovesickness and the precious spirit of persistent pursuit; Then, from the person who reaches out, imagine that the other person misses himself, and express the unforgettable love of both sides delicately and vividly. With the help of myths and legends, William expressed his strong desire to communicate with his lover to comfort the suffering of lovesickness.

With brilliant ideas, novel imagination and subtle warnings, the whole poem expresses profound and graceful feelings, and creates a poetic artistic conception full of sadness and beauty, which is sad and moving. (Little Qin Shou)
