Chicheng Hot Spring is located in the deep valley of Cangshan Mountain, 7.5 kilometers southwest of the county, with an altitude of 942 meters, a maximum temperature of 20.1℃, and a minimum temperature of -12.6℃. It is the green barrier of the capital Beijing, with green mountains and gurgling spring water. , beautiful scenery. The hot spring is a highly curative mineral spring formed in stable rock formations 25 kilometers above the surface. The average water temperature is between 50°C and 68°C. There are main springs, stomach springs, eye springs, tracheitis springs, cold springs and flat springs in the area, among which the total spring water has the largest volume (30 cubic meters/hour) and the highest temperature (68°C). The spring water contains more than 20 kinds of chemical substances and trace elements, which have the effects of curing diseases, keeping fit, increasing longevity and rejuvenating the appearance of the skin. It is especially effective in treating arthritis and skin diseases.

Hot springs have a history of two thousand years. In the "Shui Jing Zhu" written by Li Daoyuan of the Northern Wei Dynasty, there is a record that "there is a hot spring in the north of Yuyang, and it is three hundred miles away from Yanjing". After several ups and downs, its reputation has never faded. The mineral springs given by God can not only cure illnesses, but also prolong life.

It was established as a Taoist temple during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. Celebrities from all dynasties have inscriptions and many legends on this place. In the fifth year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1430), Yang Hong, the left governor, came here to patrol the border and rediscovered this spring. He left behind the myth and legend that "a fire dragon enters the ground and boils the roots of the mountain, and the hot spring springs out from time to time". Since then, efforts have been made to rebuild Ruiyun Temple. In the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (AD 1578), Huang Yingsu, the Zhili Supervisor and Imperial Envoy, established the "First Spring Outside the Pass" inscription that still shines brightly today. In the first month of the eleventh year of Emperor Kangxi's reign in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1672), the saint ancestor Emperor Xuan Ye stayed here with his imperial grandmother for more than 50 days, leaving behind many popular legends. During the Anti-Japanese War, patriotic generals Tong Linge and Ji Hongchang visited here successively and left behind stone carvings of "Wonderful Bath" and "Washing Shame".

It was after the founding of New China that hot springs truly became a place of healing and leisure for the people. In 1951, Yang Gengtian, the former secretary of the Chahar Provincial Party Committee, proposed the idea of ??building Chicheng Hot Spring. In the early 1970s, a hot spring sanatorium was built to accommodate visitors from all over the world, especially those from the north. Every spring, guests from Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Shanxi and Northeast China flock here. Hot springs were developed on a large scale after the reform and opening up. After Chicheng County was approved to open to the public in 1996, the development and construction of hot springs attracted the attention of all levels and departments. It has invested hundreds of millions of yuan in development and built 9 hotels, covering an area of ??more than 50,000 square meters, a construction area of ??33,000 square meters, a garden area of ??16,100 square meters, 500 guest rooms of various types, 1,200 beds, and 16 large and small conference rooms. , accommodating nearly a thousand people. There are 3 large swimming pools and 2 villas. It receives 200,000 tourists annually. The Municipal Financial Training Center is the first two-star hotel. In 1998, the hot spring resort was rated as a provincial tourist resort and a two-star civilized unit.
